Quick question for our local dog owners! 👇

Does your dog:

🦴 Stiffen or hover over their food bowl?

🧦 Bolt behind the furniture with stolen socks or tea towels?

🐾 Growl or freeze when someone gets close to their chew or spot on the sofa?

You’re not alone, and it’s not your dog trying to dominate you.

I’m putting together a 2-hour evening workshop at West Barns village hall breaking down kind, science-backed solutions to resource guarding. We’ll cover safe home setups, live human-only demonstrations of the Trade Game, and emergency release cues with full workbooks and tea provided.

Before confirming the venue date, I’d love to get a rough headcount.

🐾HOW STRONG IS YOUR BOND WITH YOUR DOG? ❤️🐾

We all love our dogs, but building a truly great relationship with them goes beyond walks, treats and teaching them to sit!

🐾 Here are 5 simple ways to strengthen your bond:

🐶 1. Spend quality time together
Put your phone away and enjoy a few minutes of undivided attention. Play, explore or simply relax together.

🌿 2. Let them sniff!
Your dog's nose is amazing. Giving them time to explore the world through scent is brilliant mental enrichment.

🐾 3. Make training fun
Reward-based training builds trust, confidence and a dog who wants to work with you.

🐕‍🦺 4. Learn to listen to your dog
Those little signals matter! Understanding your dog's body language helps you recognise when they're happy, worried, excited or need space.

🎉 5. Celebrate the little wins
Recall improving? A calmer walk? Choosing to settle instead of jumping up? Every step forward deserves recognition!

🐾 Remember: Your dog doesn't need you to be perfect. They need you to be consistent, patient and kind.
At Best Behaviour Dog Training, we believe training is about more than obedience, it's about building a relationship based on trust, understanding and teamwork.

👇 Tell us in the comments: What's your dog's favourite way to spend time with you?
