I feel like I’ve tried multiple methods with my dogs to teach them to weave.

I do believe different methods work for different dogs.

This time half of my channel weaves broke… so no channels this time. I went with the 2x2 method then used weave guides when they were closing and WOW the success it creates!

I love how much success and then because of this the high reinforcement rate! Happy dog equals happy owner!!

Lots more to work on but we are getting there! Well done Spyro the grey dragon 🩶

Aurora has been such a great mum. The pups are up and about and starting to play.

The next stage is my favourite part of having puppies. Time to learn to play with humans 😍😍 and start to add different activities for them to work and engage with.

We got your last run to grade 7 papped! 🤩

I will never get another dog like River, she is my most driven, clever and loyal dog. Yes getting to Grade 7 is amazing but the journey getting there has been far from linear but most importantly it’s boosted our relationship like no other.

From getting a little collie puppy that fit into the palm of my hand, the crying because she would not settle or sleep, barking at people to then actually finding what agility was at the age of 1.

We then began with an obsession, an addiction to agility. I remember going up to Laura Short to train and she recommended training with Janet Thompson, who taught us so much and became a great friend. A lot of our progress has come with the help of Janet and I will be entirely grateful for this.

Now we start a whole new journey on champ runs… so what does my training look like at the minute? I’m stripping it all back and doing single jump skills and weave skills.

We have our first champ in October so we will see how I cope with those because at the end of the day it is the handler that gets it wrong 🤣🙈😬
