What a glorious day its turned out to be 🌞

This morning , Me and my girls were enjoying the views and peace ✌️ in the field. It looked so nice I had to take a few photos 📸.

I do have to pinch myself sometimes, knowing that I am sooo lucky to live here in the countryside 👩‍🌾 and to work from home everyday.

A heads up to anyone that I book the field for - i am away on holiday 🏖 from Thursday next week so please get in touch if you need a slot booked.

For the majority of you booking online 💻 if you need to change your booking just go to your conformation email 📧 and change to another day/ time.

Bark & Bridle will be here every morning 🌄 and evening checking the field to ensure its clean, poo free and changing the bag in the bin.

If I can ask a small favour 🤔, If you see a poo 💩 please pick it up! It is your responsibility to always pick up after your dog but I am still finding some on a daily basis.

Friends are also booked in every lunchtime to walk my dogs so they will also be keeping an eye on the field 🟩.

Yet another road closure for Fri, Sat and Sun for anyone visiting the field or the shop 😥.

The roundabout at Cargenbridge will be closed from 8am - 4.30pm on these 3 days.

Along with the A711 closure thats been on at Beeswing, these are definately effecting small business along the main road.
But the work needs done - so only a few day to go and all will be back to normal.

So if you are visiting from Dumfries - please allow extra time for a detour!

🤎 After the rain on Sunday the moles have been having a great time in the field 🤣

Thankfully my friend has put traps down, if u see any poles please dont move them, they are beside some holes.

This needs to be done unfortunately 😪 as it just makes a mess of the field and can lead to divets / uneven ground.

I love ❤️ to know that your dogs 🐕 can enjoy the freedom & explore with peace of mind in the field but Please 🙏 DO NOT LET YOUR DOG DIG 🕳.

Not only do they leave a muddy 🟫 mess which is hard to get the grass to grow back but it is also dangerous ⚡️ for other dogs and owners.

A regular customer has just phoned me to say that one of his dogs sustained a serious injury suspecting that the dog tripped in a hole at the weekend 😳 😥.
Thankfully he is very understanding and has insurance but this is does not make it any easier.

I regularly fill in the holes however in nearly 6 years of the field being open this dangerous issue has only started happening this year?

I know there is pesky moles who love the good quality soil 🪱in the field and this doesn't help a dogs natural want to dig!
This is a business for private hire for everyone to enjoy. 😊

I understand it can take seconds for a dog to dig but it is your responsibility to actively supervise your dog whilst you are in the field 🧐.

There has been a shovel near the Pup Hut for months - so please use it to fill in any holes.

I will continue to monitor this every a.m and p.m. whilst I am doing my checks and I will order some signs 🛑 to put up.

Just a heads up for anyone visiting the field or the shop next week 🚗!

Beeswing road will be closed for resurfacing so please plan ahead.The route advised is Lochfoot.

Now the weather has cooled down more of you have been enjoying time with your dog in the field 🟢.

It brings me so much joy seeing dogs who have never been off lead....and for the first time they come to my field 😍.
It really is the best 👌 feeling in the world.
Especially if its a Greyhound and they just zoom 🪶up and down , so happy to be having a sprint.

If you havent visited yet and are thinking if you should here's some reasons to come :

🤑Its only £5 for 30 mins private use
💧 There's a hose in the field with fresh running water
⛔️ Its 100% secure
✔️ I personally check the field every morning and evening
☕️ There's tea/ coffee every day
💩 Forgot poo bags - dont worry they are in the Pup Hut
⚾️ Huge box of clean toys
🌲 Trees 🌳 for sniffing
😃 There's a few jumps , a tunnel and some equipment for photo opportunities
🐶 If I am about, I will always come for a chat, or say Hello 👋

Just home from a lovely afternoon judging the Dog Show at Moniave .

The weather was perfect 👌

Best in show 🥇:
A Huge well done to this young handler and his dog "Happy".
A working chocolate Labrador who was on his best behaviour. He was obedient, friendly, always watching his owner and paw perfect.

Reserve Best In Show🥈 :
A Gorgeous and very well behaved Puppy. "Midge" took it all in her stride, healed with owner, sat when asked and was happy to be there at her very first show. An excellent Puppy 🐶

Champion 🏆 of Moniave District was a very handsome Black Labrador. " Bravo" had a gorgeous shiny coat, well behaved, lovely temperament and deserved his Rosette and Sash.

Thank you to all the committee at The Horse Show for inviting me back.

A HUGE Thank you 😊 to Killieford Boarding Kennels for a big bag of yummy treats kindly donated this week.

Alot of my customers use this family run, local kennels to take care of their dogs 🐕 when they are away on holiday or a short break.

And they have a new F.B page, so please like it. 👍

I have the honour again of being Head Judge at Moniave Horse Show tomorrow from 2pm .

These treats will be given out to the winners 🏆 and its to be cooler so a perfect day for a Dog Show 🎊

A regular customer of the field has been selected for the Commonwealth Games in Canada 🇨🇦 and she is doing a fundraiser to help pay for the trip.

With this very hot 🔥 weather, field bookings are obviously down but thats fine!
Over the last few days we have had a lovely breeze 🍃 in the field and after 5pm theres plenty of shade 😎

Over the years I have had thousands of bookings 📧 and I am certain there are a few "types" of customers / dogs that visit!

Which one are you? 🤔

A HUGE thank you to all my customers who kindly pop some money in when they have a cuppa.

And to those who always say " keep the change " when you are in my shop, it all adds up for the Greyhounds!

Money 💰 for the dog beds sold are also in the amount.

Ill be at Gracefield Arts Centre tomorrow but rhe shop is still OPEN!

A round of applause please for our Honorary Member Emma Maxwell from Kirkgunzeon Canines and her wonderful customers for collecting and donating a whopping £390 in her two charity tins. Regulars will know that she has a charity bucket in her excellent shop and a charity tin in her Pup Hut in the Freedom Field where customers can enjoy a cuppa for a donation to DCGR.
Tomorrow, Emma will be at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries where she will have an information/sales table as part of the Dog's Life Exhibition, so why not pop in and say hello. DCGR will be there on the 25th.

Ive been enjoying a few days off!

Not something I do very often 😂. The shop was closed Mon and tomorrow evening so I can spend some time with my boys 💙.

But as you all know the field never closes, I love my morning and evening walks with my 5 dogs checking the fence, looking for any stray poos 💩 and making sure the field is tip top for my wonderful customers!

A very spoiled dog called Teddy has very kindly donated some of his toys to the field 😊.
He has too many and his lovely parents gave me them last week.

The toy box is always full with clean balls and toys for your dogs to enjoy but please remember to always pick them up before you leave the field. ✨️

The weather is looking nice and dry over the next week.. and Friday is to be 26 degrees!
If you want to come earlier or later, just message me.

The price for hiring the field is the same since I opened in 2021 😀 but if you are struggling with weekly bills please just message and I am happy 😊 to help you out with a free run in the field.

A polite reminder that for £5 for 30mins or £10 for an hour allows 3 dogs or less with 2 cars attending. 🚗
