Total mileage covered on the walk was 95.6 😱😅 this included path diversions due to erosion and heading inland to campsites, the final day had a big diversion from the coastline due to not being allowed to pass through the grounds of the Osbourne estate which was a retreat for the royal family until recently….. so close to the hundred mile mark 😬 who knows…. Maybe next year 😉😁 🧡🦊

We’re running Open Volunteer Days to help us get back on our feet after the storm damage. If you’ve been asking how to help, this is it!

No special skills needed — it’s all about extra hands and community spirit. Expect jobs like:
- clearing debris
- carrying materials
- sorting donations
- general tidy-up and clean-up
- transport/collections (if you have a car/van)

Bring: sturdy footwear, warm layers, gloves if you have them.
Please make sure you register (we’re managing numbers and tasks to make sure things run as smooth as possible). Then look out for an email confirming what to expect on the day.

We’ve had lots of questions about volunteering as a family. Right now it’s 18+ only while we work through insurance and safeguarding requirements. We’re hoping to offer family friendly opportunities later and will update everyone as soon as we can.

As many of you will have seen over the weekend Brockswood (the home of Freya and Toby) was handed a severe blow by storm Goretti, causing a lot of devastation to many of the rescue animal enclosures and aviaries, through this I’m thankful to say both Freya and Toby were unaffected as they were tucked up in their indoor enclosure through the night.

The generosity of the public and local community has been incredible and the GoFundMe that was set up for all the affected animals/enclosures is now at over £21k! 💚

Seeing the damage myself first hand on Friday morning has made me want to push this fundraiser for Freya and Tobys new enclosure even harder now as I never want to see anything like this happen to them, the support and donations you have all given so far will help ensure their safety and wellbeing along with their happiness 😊

These beautiful foxes still remain a very high priority at the sanctuary while all the other major repairs are taking place.

My walk of the Isle of Wight coast will still be taking place and I have many more fundraising ideas coming to the page in the very near future that you will all be able to join in on and support, please continue to share Freya and Tobys page and tell your friends/family to follow along also and let’s get them this amazing fox home they so desperately deserve 🦊🧡
