Absolutely fabulous day at Burwarton today. Reggie and Ronnie were the bestest boys. Lovely and relaxed. We were parked by the jumping rings and I think the boys quite enjoyed watching the jumping 😂

Reggie got 2nd out of seven in the Lead Rein Mountain and Moorland, just pipped to first place by a HOYS pony.

The boys then went in Welsh A or B Barren Mare or Gelding where Reggie got 2nd, again just narrowly missing out on 1st 🤦‍♀️ And Ronnie got third out of seven. Really pleased with them both.

Well, there’s Tenbury done and dusted.

Mixed day again. This time, Errol was the dishonour to the family 🤦‍♀️ Dishonour, dishonour on him, dishonour on his cow. But I’ll sort of forgive him because he hasn’t been to a big show for over a year, and there was a lot going on; the flags, the crowds, the fanfare. And aside from refusing to stand still for more than a micro second in the collecting ring and in the class itself, he managed to get 2nd in the Arab class and was pretty good down by the box for hours while Darcy was off doing her bit in the ridden ring.

Darcy, despite being a bit overwhelmed down by the rings at first did two lovely shows, and got a 3rd in Lead Rein Mountain and Moorland in a strong class of nine. She was just pipped to the post for 2nd, the judge said it was a close thing.

She unfortunately didn’t get anywhere in the Ridden Coloured class. It was a bit weird because, instead of bringing the lead rein pony to the centre, out of the way, while the bigger horses did their collective walk, trot, and canter around the ring, the judge asked Darcy to keep going around the ring with them 😬

Having the big horses cantering up the back of her started to upset Darcy, so Tash asked if she could go to the middle until it was time for her individual show. This, Darcy did perfectly, but because she hadn’t gone around with the open ridden horses, she didn’t get placed, though the judge gave Merida a special rosette for the experience 🏵️

Pre-show practice ride for Darcy today before we go to the Tenbury agricultural show tomorrow. She was great. Darcy and Errol are in the spotlight. Hoping for a good day 🙏

3yo Rio accompanied Darcy on her ride out for an educational walk. She was a very good girl and when she got home, she had her all important rite of passage in becoming a ridden pony and had her first rider on board for a little sit on. She didn’t turn a hair. Good job, because first rider was quickly followed by her second 😂

Once the ride was over it was bath time for Darcy and Errol 💦🫧🛀🧽
