Ice 2013-2025
Yesterday, we lost a great agility dog, she was such a great dog, altho not mine, I am feeling the loss as if she was.
She was taken before her time.
You probably never noticed her, she was not spectaculary fast, wasnt in your face, but she always got a rosette at any show she went too. She was reliable and careful, and would run for anyone, she was the star at the Downpatrick Family Fun Day every year, she would have been a perfect team dog, as she rarely made mistakes, and with Claire made agility look effortless.
Her career was stunted by Covid and Claire also being “mum’s taxi’ during her early years but even at 11 she was still winning, altho last year Claire noticed her slowing and having difficulties, so she was retired from competitions.
She always came down the driveway to great me, with her big happy smiley face, something I will miss, altho she did teach Snap that trick. Even last week she did a small course having whined the whole time Claire was working Snap, the jumps were low, and she was still lovely to watch and she was so pleased with herself at the end, showing Snap she hadnt lost it, and how it should be done.
I was devastated last night when Claire told me, and she hasnt been out of my thoughts today, she is now with Fendi, who we lost a few weeks ago, at Rainbow Bridge .
Not a good year so far for Claire, hopefully Snap will fill a bit of that very big hole left by these 2 very beautiful and talented dogs.
