PARVOVIRUS

I’ve just been made aware of a couple of suspected/confirmed cases of parvovirus in dogs in the Worcester area, and sadly, I understand that the dogs affected have not survived. 💔

I wanted to make all of my lovely clients aware so that you can be extra vigilant when out walking your dogs, particularly around areas where lots of dogs exercise.

Parvovirus can be extremely serious and highly contagious, so please keep an eye out for signs such as vomiting, diarrhoea (which can sometimes contain blood), loss of appetite, extreme tiredness/lethargy and dehydration. If your dog develops any of these symptoms, please contact your vet promptly and myself.

Please be assured that when your dog is in my care, I will take the utmost care and every reasonable precaution to minimise any potential risk. I will continue to maintain high standards of hygiene, be mindful of where the dogs are walked and take sensible precautions to help keep all of my boarders safe. 🐶❤️

However, as with any infectious illness, I cannot completely eliminate the risk of a dog being exposed to or contracting an infection, and unfortunately I cannot be held responsible should a dog become unwell during or after their stay. This is simply because exposure can occur before, during or after a dog’s time in my care, and dogs can sometimes be carrying infections before symptoms become apparent.

I’m sharing this purely as a precaution and to keep everyone informed — I certainly don’t want to cause any unnecessary worry or alarm. ❤️

Please make sure your dog’s vaccinations are fully up to date and, if you have any concerns at all, speak to your vet

This is the recommendation just from a vets in Worcester:-

• Make sure your dog is up to date on vaccinations.
• ⁠Do not mix any vaccinated dogs with unvaccinated dogs.
• ⁠Walks should be on a lead for the time being due to Parvo spreading via poo and saliva.
• ⁠Any dogs prone to eating poo must be on leads to avoid this.

To be more vigilant and careful especially if any dogs are prone to eating poo!!!

Well it’s been a very busy summer here at our Waggy Woofers Dog Boarding Family with lots of Waggy tails coming through our doors.

We had a fab week with this gorgeous girl Luna. A new boarder with us you were an absolute joy to look after for your lovely humans. You certainly kept us all on our toes and I don’t think a day went by without us all smiling at your antics - what great fun we all had with you.

Hi All,
Urgent update. My mobile decided to give up the ghost this afternoon. It has gone off to be repaired. The shop gave me a mobile to borrow whilst this is being done however I cannot remember my Apple ID so it will not allow me access to anything!!

I have requested to change my password but It may take up to 24 hours for this to be done.
