Does your dog have a full-time job… and it’s bothering you? 😂

“Play with me.”

“What’s that?”

“What’s in your hand?”

“Can I have that?”

“I’m bored.”

“Can we go out?”

“I’m bored again.”

And somehow you’ve already walked them, fed them, played with them AND given them attention.

Yet apparently they have suffered greatly from a lack of entertainment. 😂

If your dog seems to need you to be their personal entertainer 24/7…

You are definitely not alone. 🐶😂

Is your dog like this? 👇 Comment below for a solution!!

🌈 RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY 🌈

Today let’s remember the dogs who are no longer by our side, but who will always have a place in our hearts. ❤️

The ones who taught us what unconditional love feels like.

The ones who left paw prints on our lives that time could never erase.

And the ones we would give anything to have just one more day with.

Today, I’m remembering Alfie and Chester. 🐾❤️

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.

If you’ve lost a dog, leave their name below. 🌈🐾 and a photo if you like too!

Let’s fill the comments with all the very special dogs who are still loved, even though they’re no longer here. ❤️

🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾

Today is the perfect excuse to celebrate our little buddies who make our lives better… even when they’re also the reason there’s mud on the floor, hair on your clothes and a mysterious sock missing. 😂

Our dogs don’t need to be perfectly behaved to be wonderful.

They just need to be our dogs. ❤️

So today, give them an extra cuddle, play their favourite game, go on their favourite walk and celebrate all the little things that make them them.

And tell me…

🐶 What’s your favourite thing about your dog? 👇

🗺️ Where is Mucky Pups located?

I live in Driffield, but travel to Beverley, Hull, Bridlington, Market Weighton, Hornsea, and all the areas in between!

🐕 Do I do group classes?

I don’t continuously run group classes as I find people benefit much more from private sessions, but when I have group classes, i will advertise these on Facebook, instagram, and my website. Check out this blog post for more information: https://www.muckypups-dogtraining.com/post/private-training-vs-group-classes

💰 What do I charge?

I don’t charge per hour as my programs included a whole lot more than just our time together. My program costs vary depending on what you need help with. I offer a free discovery call so we can have a chat about the best solution for you and your dog. Book your call here: https://calendly.com/muckypupsdogtraining/free-discovery-call Check out this blog post for more information: https://www.muckypups-dogtraining.com/post/how-much-does-dog-training-cost

📝 Do I have a waiting list?

I don’t have a waiting list for training, however I do only accept a few clients per month. This is partly so that I have enough time to help everyone, but also so I can ensure we are a good fit for training. It is important that as well as me suiting you and your dog, you also need to be a good fit for me! That’s how we’ll make a great team and get the perfect results for you and your dog.

🐶 What type of dogs does Mucky Pups train?

All of them! I have trained dogs as young as 5 weeks old to over 19 years old! I've trained dogs as small as chihuahuas to as large as Great Danes, dogs as common as Labradors to as rare as a Stabyhoun, and dogs as friendly and fearful as you can imagine. My favourite thing about my job is the huge variety of dogs I get to meet.

👩🏼‍🎓 Why is Mucky Pups different from other trainers?

I am not just a trainer. I am also a dog behaviourist, which means that I have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Training. Not only am I fully qualified, but I have spent years and... well, lets just say I could have bought many fancy cars with the money I have spent (and continue to spend) to become the best possible dog behaviourist.

I also am proud to call myself a member of the Pet Professional Guild, which is the only international member association who advocate for force free dog training. I meet their very high professional standards and follow their code of ethics. I am compassionate, understanding, and design all my training to fit each individual (dog and owner's) needs.

📖 Does Mucky Pups have reviews I can read?

Yes! Most of my reviews are on my page, but there are also some on Google. I am proud of my reputation and encourgae you to scroll through my reviews to see how I can help you. Here’s a link to my Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/C6o49NjYMgdEhjWn/?mibextid=LQQJ4d

🐶 Is your dog chewing? Barking? Pulling on lead?

🐶 Does your dog get over excited at every visitor? Or even at a bird landing in his garden?

🐶 Is your dog wolfing down his breakfast in seconds? Or maybe they aren’t bothered by their food at all and will leave it all morning?

It might be that your dog is BORED! 😭

Don’t take this personally! Many dogs get bored easily - just think: they have to stay in four walls all day, staring at the same things, and even when they go for their walk, it’s controlled - where they go, when they sniff, who they meet. 🐕

I have a solution! 👇

Do you know what ‘enrichment’ is?

🥳 “anything that modifies an animal's environment to encourage physical activity and mimic behaviors that animal would do in the wild to satisfy their physical and mental needs” 🐾

Simply put, enrichment gives your dog something to do which is either or both mentally and physically tiring. 🐾

So many people tire their dog out physically by walks after walks, runs after runs. All this is doing is building a ‘super athlete dog’. 🏃

You need to also work an animal’s mind. 🧠

I can help you with this!

If you crave a relaxed life with your dog, you need my Ultimate Boredom Buster!

In this course, I’ll help you…

🎁 Build your dog’s confidence and reduce anxiety.
🎁 Give your dog impulses control and focus.
🎁 Reduce inappropriate behaviours such as chewing, barking, digging, and more!
🎁 Help your dog settle easier in their home environment!
🎁 Give you 100s of ideas on how to tire out your dog in a healthy way.
🎁 Find age appropriate enrichment ideas for your dog’s whole life, as they grow from puppy to teenager, adult to senior.
🎁 Get the whole family involved in fun activities, ensuring your dog bonds with everyone in the family, and teaching your children appropriate play games.

So, what’s included ?
✅ An introduction to enrichment
✅ The skills, knowledge, and creativity you need to introduce enrichment into your dog's life in an easy and fun way.
✅ Understanding of how to plan enrichment activities to suit YOUR dog, according to their age, health, breed, and individual personality.
✅ Ideas of new play games that are appropriate for children to bond with their four-legged friend.
✅ Over 50 games, including scent games, calming games, focus games, and impulse control games.
✅ Over 100 enrichment activity ideas!

And just to top it off, this enrichment course includes…

💥 TWO MONTH enrichment planning done for you! That’s 60 days of daily fun activities for you and your pooch! 💥

New to Mucky Pups?

Here’s why I’m qualified to help you with your best friend… Enrichment isn’t just a part of my routine with my dogs, it’s something I really enjoy doing!

One of my hobbies is getting creative and finding new activities and games that will entertain mine and other people’s dogs.

Visit here for more info:

When you ask people (or google!) they just say "give more enrichment". But you've tried it all, and none of it works! Kongs are emptied in 2 minutes, Licki-mats are destroyed, and puzzles are great for the first 3 times and then they are too easy!

“I don’t want to give treats because then my dog will only work for treats”….. is a phrase I hear at least once a week ☹️

But… it’s not quite right…

❌ If you are using treats as a BRIBE, then yes, your dog will only ever work for treats.

✅ If you are using treats as a REWARD, your dog will happily work for YOU!!

So what’s the difference?

Well, the main difference is timing.

Here’s an example:

✅Reward: Ask your dog to ‘sit’. Dog sits. You get a treat from your pocket and give it.

❌Bribe: Ask your dog to sit. Dog ignores you. Get a treat from your pocket and ask your dog to sit. Dog sits. You give the treat.

The other key difference is motivation.

✅Reward: Dog learns to associate sitting with a positive reward, and so will do it more often.

❌Bribe: Dog learns to look for food before sitting.

The long-term effects of bribery are that your dog will only ever work for food. ☹️

The long-term effects of reward-based training are that your dog will love to work FOR YOU because they have learnt that something positive comes from listening to you. 😁😁

Something to note: Luring is something entirely different. (For example, taking a treat in front of your dog’s nose to lure them into a sitting position). Luring is a fantastic training method to teach a new behaviour, and should then be faded quickly to avoid it becoming a bribe.

“My dog isn’t food-motivated”

✅Yes they are!✅

Food is a primary reinforcer, which means they naturally love it!

Other rewards (such as toys and verbal praise) are secondary reinforcers, which means your dog has to learn to like them. This means that food is one of the BEST rewards! So why isn’t your dog taking the food?

1️⃣. It isn’t high value enough, or they are used to it / bored of it.

2️⃣. The situation is too stimulating and is causing excitement / anxiety / stress.

3️⃣. You are asking your dog for too much.

How can you help?

1️⃣. Mix up the treats! Try new things and keep it fun and exciting.

2️⃣. Ensure that you aren’t asking your dog for something that they are physically or emotionally unable to handle.

3️⃣. Make the delivery of the treat more exciting.
