☀️🐾 Bank Holiday Heat Warning for Pets 🐾☀️

With the temperatures rising this Bank Holiday weekend, we wanted to remind everyone to help keep their dogs and cats safe in the hot weather ❤️

🐶 Dogs:
• Avoid walks during the hottest part of the day — early morning or late evening is safest
• Always carry fresh water on walks
• Never leave dogs in cars, even for a few minutes
• Hot pavements can burn paws — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet
• Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting or collapse

🐱 Cats:
• Make sure they always have access to cool shaded areas and fresh water
• Keep an eye on older cats and flat-faced breeds who can struggle more in the heat
• Groom regularly to help prevent overheating
• Frozen treats or damp towels can help keep them comfortable

🌡️ If you are worried your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, contact White Cliffs Vets immediately. Heatstroke can become life-threatening very quickly.

Miki and Mishka, the lovely cats who belong to our veterinary surgeons, Konrad and Aneta!

Miki is a true feline gentleman who knows what he likes… and that’s anything fish-related 🐟 (and plenty of personal space, of course!). He’s the definition of independent charm.

Mishka, on the other paw, is a cuddle enthusiast who’s always ready for affection—and impressively, even enjoys a game of fetch!😼.
