Another session with these fab boys this morning! 💙💙
Today the boys had a little cuddle from me while I sat down and chatted with their lovely mum about what’s been going well and what hasn’t been going quite so well. We talked through a few tweaks to help the boys make good choices out on walks, as well as ways we can build their confidence around the cat flap.
We then worked on their emergency stops, sit/stays, longline handling and have also started introducing some Scentwork.
The boys were also in need of a nail clip, so we discussed the best way to approach this and, of course, ‘Treat Lady’ was on hand to help them see nail clipping as a positive experience!
If any of my clients would like help with something like nail clipping, please feel free to mention it during our sessions. I’m always happy to help where I can, and I’ll always be honest if I don’t think your dog is currently at a point where they’re able to cope with nail clipping.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is take a step back, build confidence and work at a pace that keeps our dogs feeling safe and comfortable. 🐾
