‼️No dog is the same....and this is especially important to remember when working through separation anxiety.
🖥️Most people try to address the fact their dog can't cope being home alone by referring to good old Google or AI to get an idea of what to do.
The main problem with that and why it doesn't work?
It's generic!💡
It doesn't take into account where YOUR dog is currently at....THEIR threshold, THEIR behaviour, the speed of THEIR behaviour escalation....and it doesn't take into account YOUR home layout or environment.
🔼All of those points above are vital to consider when setting a separation anxiety protocol so that we ensure plans are set well within that individual dog's comfort zone, and I can assure you that NO dog I work with has the same plans! No two dogs react the same....and THAT is why a generic protocol found on Google isn't going to work! If your dog is being pushed to feel even slightly worried on a regular basis, it will fail
❓Have any of you tried a generic plan? How did you find it?
