💙 Fletcher the Labrador 💙

Fletcher is one of my regular canine clients, he has treatments to help keep him comfortable and moving freely.

As he is naturally hypermobile, he can be prone to developing muscular tension as his body works hard to stabilise his joints. Regular McTimoney treatments and Omega Laser therepy help to keep his muscles and soft tissues relaxed to support his overall movement and comfort. 🐾

Two very special boys, CJ & Del 🐎❤️

CJ has recently come off the track - this was his first ever treatment since retiring from racing. We took things slowly, allowing him time to settle and helping him release some of the tension from his racing career as he begins this exciting new chapter.

And then there’s Del — a very special 26-year-old ex-racer who enjoys the quieter life now. 🥰 At 26, it’s all about keeping him comfortable, mobile and feeling his best.

Two ex-racehorses at very different stages of life, but both equally lovely to work with. ❤️🐴

✨ 13 years young and still going strong! ✨

Meet Gertie 🐾 — a 13-year-old Patterdale who clearly didn’t get the memo that she’s supposed to slow down! 😂❤️

Gertie is still out there competing at agility, showing that age really is just a number when you’ve got the right attitude!

To help keep her feeling comfortable, mobile and ready for the next challenge, Gertie has regular McTimoney treatments. Keeping those older joints and muscles moving well can make such a difference to maintaining an active lifestyle.

Over the last few months a link has been found between “dry eye”, kerato conjunctivitis sicca, and the feeding of Years dog food. Dry eye occurs because of a lack of tear production, it is painful and needs to be treated.

Investigations by veterinary ophthalmologists into the recent increase in cases of severe, bilateral (both eyes) dry eye in breeds not usually at risk, has lead to the withdrawal of the food.

If you have a dog who may be affected please contact your vet

Something a little more lighthearted!!!

🐾 What actually happens to your dog's muscles during rehab exercises?

We prescribe cavaletti, incline walks, step-ups, water treadmill... but what's really firing underneath all that fur?
A few studies have been conducted using EMG to study which muscles are activating during which exercises, and the results might interest you...

A few highlights from the evidence:
✅ Cavaletti poles = one of the best exercises for quadriceps (vastus lateralis) activation and it switches on earlier in the stride, which matters hugely for CCL patients
✅ Incline walking is a good glute (gluteus medius) builder, more than flat walking or declines
✅ Dancing backwards isn't just a fun trick, it produced the highest hamstring AND glute activity of any exercise tested
✅ Water treadmill? 'more resistance = more muscle work' may not be true
