Callie Home Farm Stables Horse Training in Harmony

22/08/2026

Very proud of the twins yesterday - their first party and they were fully prepared and able to show off.

Particularly satisfying was the calm loading and travelling for the six hour round-trip. We’ve done plenty of preparation to ensure that their first experience was a good one.

Failing to prepare means you’re preparing to fail - instead we’ve come home with happy successful athletes

Thank you for trusting me with your horses care and education.

Dixie was the first horse to come in on our new site at Home Farm Stables. Horses like Dixie are the reason we’re building our dream training facility - I hope to help hundreds more!!

I have absolutely loved receiving updates from her Mum - she’s now hacking out in traffic regularly and she’s so relaxed in the arena.

When she arrived she couldn’t even walk calmly around the edge...

It’s such a pleasure to be able to help rewrite a horses story - get in touch if you would like help with your horse!

Well it’s two months overdue but FINALLY the new website is online!!

I got a bit behind on the business admin as compeltely unexpectedly we have been fully booked since the day we started!

But there is one space for a training livery in September , and more availability going forward.

So if you’re looking to problem solve something that you and your horse are stuck on, have a youngster ready to continue their education or just are taking a big holiday and want to know your horse will be compassionately cared for whilst you’re away - give us a ring or email!

Lewis has outdone himself with the ultimate birthday present this year.

I thought moving to our dream farm, starting a whole new life and spending all our savings was enough… but Lewis somehow found time to go one better

he found the remains of this statue littered it all over the farm. It had clearly been driven into at some point and broken. He reassembled the parts, straightened what was needed… and gave me a new Horse for my birthday!

The perfect new Horse, which doesn’t come with bills, injuries, or a time commitment!

It’s also the perfect symbol of what we do here - reassemble horses (more minds than bodies!) when the training or experiences have gone a bit wrong.

I’m a very spoilt lady entering my 36th year. Thankyou Lewis Gaston 🩷🩷🩷

Easter weekend was a gorgeous few days of sunshine and family. I find it hard to take time out as I really love my work but I also cherish the time I get to spend in our home fields with no rushing about.

I had 48 hours where the only horses I saw were my own and I actually saw my human family. April 5th was Easter Day this year, but also my dads birthday. As the first birthday since his death we took the dogs and his ashes for a walk across the beach at west wittering where he loved to be in his boat. He is now resting at sea, and I can’t think of a better place.

Then Monday was a day spent lazing with our animals. Freckles my overgrown Labrador and is more than happy to sunbathe with me on top. We also had a team meeting with the girls where are the worlds problems were put to right.

Bella voted for unlimited grazing, Mirabelle put in a request for more bum scratches and princess Penny wondered when she was going to be upgraded to queen of the farm…

The pointers picnicked and there was sunshine. ☀️
Very lucky to have so much love ❤️

I am so enjoying this spring and supporting a host of young horses in training.

This week I’ve seen - a pair of 2 year olds doing their first forays into groundwork - teaching them the basics of leading and following the rope.

Then I’ve worked with a few 3 year olds where I am assisting their owners in backing their horses themselves. These talented youngsters have fabulous homes where priority is given to understanding and education, rather than getting it done. The result is a clutch of insanely talented but well regulated horses who I can’t wait to get under saddle this summer.

And finally I’m lucky enough to be schooling in a couple of horses who I started last year. They had a lovely first season hacking, a winter off and are now restarting and starting on their ‘further education!’

Just keep bringing the sunny days and filling them with horses - and I think I’m the luckiest lady in England!

Christmas Roundup!

I’ve been useless at the he socials this Christmas as I’ve been trying to do the work/life balance thing for a change and concentrate on family….. I’m still in training to really forget work for more than about 10 hours… !!!

But luckily concentrating on family for me mostly means more time with our gorgeous DOGGOs and PONIEs!!!

I’ve been making the most of having .cars.fast.ponies on hand to take the girls out in pairs. Mirabelle has been to the arena for the first time - wonderfully boring exercise despite the wind! She’s 2.5 years old now - and is SO READY to have the mental stimulus.

Penny has been wearing a saddle for in hand work and popping out with freckles for walks.

Sadly freckles got some bad news from the vets just before Christmas - damage down to his stifles in a trailer accident 3 years ago has come back to bite us. His right hinf had always been where we’ve concentrated, which had a ligament strain at the time. Well the ligaments in that look great, but the meniscus attatchment has some changes. More upsettingly his Left Hind received bone trauma which is now upsetting him, and suddenly with two sore back legs we’ve lost all the muscle he needs to support the joint. So we’ve medicated and it’s rehab time, and accepting he will have limitations. Think I’ll use this as the prompt to work towards bridleless riding with the giant - something lower impact but still a challenge for us.

And Lewis and I have been spending lots of time working on the plans for our future farm purchase - so much to tell you soon once we’ve signed on thr dotted line!!!

In amongst all of this the dogs have brought joy by truely ADORING Christmas 🎄

Another happy horse and owner!

Jazz has gone from a horse who was dangerously reactive to a mare confident in herself and in us. TRT method WORKS!

Jazz is the confident and relaxed horse her owner dreamed of. And if they can do it - so can you!!

I think Norma may be my favourite role I’ve ever done - she’s so strong, opinionated, fiery and then this is contrasted with ethereally beautiful music showing her doubts and fears in private.
To get an inspiring character alongside something which musically sets my imagination on fire is the unicorn of opera! Thankyou Bellini and thankyou for providing a super production in which I can go wild!
Last night tonight and I’m going to
Miss this one! (Looking forward to photos which are better than this selfie…)
