Four years ago today, after years of planning, dreaming, and hard work, we opened the doors to Wilson's for the very first time.

Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come. We've welcomed so many wonderful clients and patients through our doors, and our practice family has grown in ways we could never have imagined.

We are so grateful to every single one of you who has trusted us with the care of your beloved pets and supported us throughout this journey. Your kindness, loyalty, and encouragement mean more to us than words can express.

This anniversary is a particularly emotional one.

The last three months have been some of the hardest we've ever faced following the heartbreaking loss of Alistair, the heart and soul of Wilson's. He wasn't just the founder of our practice—he was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to so many. His passion for veterinary care, his compassion for every animal, and his genuine care for every client helped shape the practice we are so proud to be today.

We miss him every single day.

As difficult as it has been, we know exactly what Alistair would have wanted. He would have wanted us to keep caring, keep smiling, keep supporting one another, and continue providing the very best care to every pet that comes through our doors. That is exactly what we are committed to doing, and we hope we continue to make him proud.

Some of you may notice a few new faces around the practice over the coming weeks, as vets join us to support Matt while we continue to provide the highest standard of care.

You may also notice that Kelly has stepped away from her role as Head Nurse and into a new position as Practice Manager.

To every member of our team—thank you. Your resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication over the past few months have been nothing short of extraordinary. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

And finally, to our amazing clients, thank you for standing by us—not just today, but every day over the last four years. Your support has carried us through the highs and the lows, and we are honoured to continue caring for you and your pets.

Here's to Alistair's legacy, to our incredible team, and to many more years of caring for our wonderful community. ❤️

*Alistair's Funeral*

The funeral cortege will begin in Austrey and travel through Polesworth, before proceeding up Fairfields Hill and onwards to the Practice.

We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the service in person. For those who are unable to be there, a live stream will be available and can be accessed using the details below.

*Update for Alistair's Funeral*

We would like to let everyone attending the practice tomorrow know that Alistair's funeral cortege is expected to pass by at approximately 5:00pm.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for the kindness, support, and understanding shown during this difficult time. Your thoughts and support have meant a great deal to us and the family.

We would like to let everyone know that, as a mark of respect for Alistair, we have made the decision to close the practice on the day of his funeral - Saturday, 6th of June.

We expect the funeral procession to pass by the practice between 4:50pm and 5:10pm. We will provide further updates if we receive a more specific time.

About Alistair's funeral
Firstly, I sincerely thank our clients and friends for all the messages, cards, beautiful flowers, and your thoughts about Alistair in The Book of Condolences. Your kindness and generosity has supported us all more than you may know since his untimely death.

The Wilson’s Vet Practice Team continue Alistair’s work to provide a service for Dordon and the area. They are amazing people! They are coping with loss, sadness and change with such courage.

Alistair’s funeral will take place

Saturday, 6th June, 5.45p.m.
at
Heart of England Crematorium
Nuneaton

We will travel through Polesworth and Dordon, stopping very briefly at The Practice, before the journey to Nuneaton.

Afterwards, refreshments will be served at Austrey Village Hall, near The Bird in Hand Pub. Everyone is welcome.

Alistair was in a pink phase when he set up The Practice so we are giving a nod to his choice, some more than others no doubt!

We would like to once again thank everyone for their kind words and support over the past few days. It has meant more to us than we can express.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful community standing behind us during this time.

Our sincere thanks also go to all the local veterinary practices who have cared for our patients, with special appreciation to The STAR Vet Clinic for their exceptional support.

We are pleased to share that we will be reopening on Monday and continuing Alistair’s legacy. As we settle back in, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding while we adjust.

Thank you to everybody who came to visit today to sign our book of condolences. We are truly overwhelmed by the lovely comments. The practice will be open between 9am and 12pm tomorrow for anyone else wishing to pop in and sign it.

We are deeply grateful for the kind messages, prayers, and support we have received during this difficult time. Your words have brought comfort and strength at such a time where it is needed most, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you who have reached out.

We are currently in contact with Companies House and are awaiting further direction.
