Progress report!

After 4 walks together, this lovely girl is already starting to build trust and confidence with me. She can be reactive at times, but she’s handled some great exposure work so far and is making brilliant progress one step at a time. Proud of how well she’s doing already 🐾

Dogs and Dumplings.

We met up with friends and went to the Thai Food Festival this weekend. There were lots of dogs, people, food and loud music going on which can be over stimulating for some dogs.

So how did I prepare for the day out:

☑️ Fed them (obvious I know)
☑️ Made sure they had adequate exercise beforehand.
☑️ Practiced doing nothing from a young age

What we got were dogs who could settle whilst I ate my dumplings 🥟, who didn’t pull me around to get to food that had been dropped on the floor and most importantly were able to remain neutral with passing dogs and people.

New boy Milo had a walk with me today, he tends to react to bikes, scooters and some people. I took him into town after doing some engagement and loose lead work and he was amazing. Looking forward to seeing him progress with each walk we do in the future.

My day today:

7:00am Walk with Gundog pair

9:10am vet trip for Reeks MOT

9:30 1hr walk for the boys

11:10 1hr reactive dog walk.

12:45 quick lunch then another 1hr walk for a pair of Gundog ladies

3:30 1hr reactive dog walk (different dog)

5:00pm walk the boys again

6:00pm walk the Gundog ladies
