💚 Veterinary nurse awareness month💚

Veterinary nurses are highly trained professionals who study hard to become Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and continue their professional development to maintain their title and skills throughout their careers.

They are compassionate, dedicated, hardworking, and truly the superheroes of our practice. Quite simply, the practice would not run without them.

Here are just some of our RVNs , Karin, Danielle, Tash, Chloe. 🐾

Today after 5 years we are sadly saying goodbye to our vet Alex, who started as a new graduate here in 2022 and through experience and dedication she has become the incredible vet we know today. It has been an absolute joy to have her in our team.

We wish her the best of luck in her new job, and we will miss her immensely.

💚 Veterinary nurse awareness month 💚

Meet our Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs), Izzy and Manda.

Our VCAs are vital to the daily running of our hospital. They work tirelessly alongside our vets and nurses to ensure your pets receive the highest standard of day-to-day care.

They handle a wide variety of essential clinical tasks, including:

🩺Patient Care & Monitoring: Assisting the vets and nurses by keeping a close, compassionate eye on our in-patients.

🐕 Safe Patient Handling: Making sure pets feel secure during exams and procedures.

💉 Surgical Preparation: Clipping and cleaning surgical sites to maintain strict hygiene. And setting up theatres ready for surgery.

🩸 Laboratory Work: Running vital blood tests and diagnostics in-house.

🧼 Clinical Maintenance: Keeping our hospital environments sterile and safe.

🐈 Patient care: Caring for our hospital patients and offering a hand to our kennel vets and nurses by walking, toileting and feeding inpatients.

Did you know that May is Feline Hypertension month? 🐈 🐈‍⬛

High blood pressure in cats, also known as feline hypertension, is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs in around 1 in 5 cats over 9 years of age.

This disease is treatable with medication, but 82% of senior cats don't receive blood pressure
checks.

Call our reception team on 01305 262913 to get this booked in for your feline companion. 🐾
