Happy hump day! Here’s what I’ve been up to today🐴 (Can you tell I’m trying to make an effort to post more! 😆)

• Schooled 2 youngsters in the wild wind this morning 💨
• A horse & pony both clipped with overall tidy up & mane trims
• Yard job- field maintenance
• Mucked two stables out
• And back to sort my two mares out this evening

I’m quite booked up for the next couple of weeks but don’t hesitate to message as I may have cancellations! ✅

Today we’ve had an all round productive day 🐎✨

Round-up:
• Schooled 2 horses
• Mane pull & tidy
• Freshened up Rupert’s coat and gave his face a clip (photo)
• Lunged 1 pony
• Hacking with another horse
• And had a cuddle with Molly 🥰

I’m definitely far from a fair weather rider… but today is a joke 🥴💨💨

Let’s just say, sometimes it’s better to leave it for a better day. The thought of schooling/ hacking in 50mph gust winds (never mind on the youngsters), you’re most likely not going to get an inch of quality work you’re hoping for. I know I wouldn’t want to be dragged out of bed, stripped down & told to work in these conditions 🙂‍↔️

Hats off to those that have! But with how half the youngsters have been lately on a good day, I knew I’d be spending the night in DRI if I even tried 🤣 See y’all tomorrow! 💪🏼

Yesterday I had the pleasure of clipping this lovely little pony who suffers from cushings.

A lot of people ask why we clip some horses and ponies in winter. With cushings, instead of losing their winter coat, it keeps growing, leaving them with a thick, heavy coat all year round. It can actually make them very uncomfortable, cause overheating, and affect their overall wellbeing.

Clipping isn’t about looks. It’s about comfort. Removing that excess coat helps them regulate their body temperature and feel a lot more comfortable! ✂️

For a pony in his late 20’s I think he looks really well. Definitely must feel alot better with that thick coat off! 😁
