🐴✨ EQUINE BEHAVIOURIST – PATIENCE, UNDERSTANDING & TRUST ✨🐴

Something a little different to advertise this evening, we’re not just unicorns, pony rides & unusual animals— behind the scenes..

Today we worked with our lovely young stallion King who was experiencing his very first time loading into a horse box.
To begin with, he was point blank refusing to load and understandably unsure of what was being asked of him. Rather than rushing, forcing or frightening him, we took our time to understand his behaviour, build his confidence and earn his trust. 🤍

And what a result… 🙌
Within the hour, he trusted us enough to calmly walk into the horse box and loaded perfectly! 🐴🚛✅

Working with horses is all about understanding what they are trying to tell us. Sometimes they don't need more pressure — they simply need patience, reassurance and the right approach.

Our very own Ziggy from Equine Dreams of Bawtry is back in the spotlight! 🌟

It seems our cheeky zebra just can’t stay out of the headlines! 😂🦓 From turning heads to stealing the show, Ziggy certainly knows how to make himself known!

We absolutely LOVE seeing our special boy getting the attention he deserves! ❤️

Today we had a BEAUTY QUEEN call by to meet our Ziggy! 👑 😍

Nottinghamshire beauty queen Charlotte Lister came face-to-face with Bawtry’s most unusual local celebrity Ziggy the Zebra! 🦓

Reigning Ms Nottinghamshire GB Charlotte Lister donned her crown and sash for one of her most unusual appearances yet.

‘Ziggy has become something of a celebrity in his own right, attracting visitors to the Bawtry area for the chance to get up close to an animal most people would normally expect to see from the other side of a zoo enclosure’

Ziggy has also attracted media attention for his unusual home and the opportunity Equine Dreams gives visitors to meet him.

Charlotte, who will represent Nottinghamshire at the Ms Great Britain finals in Leicester this October, said:

“I think this might officially be the most random place I’ve worn my crown and sash – and I absolutely loved it!

“When I was invited to meet Ziggy, there was no way I was saying no. I knew he was well known locally, but then I discovered he’s actually had quite a bit of media attention too, so really this was two local celebrities meeting – although I’m very happy to admit that Ziggy was the bigger star.

“I got to feed him, stroke him and spend some time with him, and he was just gorgeous. It was such a lovely experience and definitely not something I ever expected to be doing when I entered a pageant.”

Equine Dreams of Bawtry, based at North View Farm, Bawtry Road, Tickhill, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN11 9HA, is home to a variety of animals and offers a range of equestrian and animal experiences.

Ziggy is one of its best-known residents, with visitors able to book a dedicated experience to meet, feed and take photographs with him.

For Charlotte, the visit was also another opportunity to highlight something a little different available on her doorstep.

She added:

“One of the things I really enjoy about having the Ms Nottinghamshire GB title is the opportunities it gives me to meet people, visit businesses and discover some of the brilliant – and sometimes slightly bonkers – things we have locally.

“You don’t have to travel halfway around the world for an amazing animal experience when there’s a zebra living just down the road!

“I’m not sure Ziggy understood the significance of the crown, but he certainly knew when I had food in my scoop.”

Charlotte will compete for the national Ms Great Britain title at the finals in Leicester on 16 and 17 October 2026.
