🦇🐑 BATSHEEP CAME OUT OF RETIREMENT. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WAS READY.

After a long and illustrious career, Batsheep was dragged out of retirement by his mini owner, Batgirl, for the village carnival.

Batgirl casually went and won 1st prize in the Under 5s Fancy Dress 🏆🦇

But Batsheep clearly wasn’t content with merely supporting his tiny human.

Due to the extremely competitive field of… checks notes… one decorated wheelbarrow/pram, Batsheep somehow found himself entered into the category for Best Decorated Sheep.

And obviously… HE WON. 😂🏆

The carnival was forced indoors because apparently Wales had other plans 🌧️, but Batsheep remained completely unfazed.

He strutted around like he owned the place, thoroughly enjoyed himself and.. in what may be his greatest achievement yet … managed to keep EVERY SINGLE TOILET REQUIREMENT 💩 OUTSIDE.

A rare breed Hebridean sheep.
A superhero.
A carnival champion.

Retirement clearly didn’t suit him.

What a bloody star. ⭐🦇🐑

Another day, another fence 🐐

“Goats are intelligent,” they said…

Meanwhile, my rare breed English goat, for the 47th time this week: “I wonder what happens if I put my head through this fence?”

Intelligent? Absolutely.
Common sense? Still under investigation.

Minsterley Show 🐐

Another brilliant goat showcase, bringing together goat owners, breeders and enthusiasts to help celebrate and promote all things GOAT!

A huge thank you to the Horsehay goat team for all the hard work they put into promoting goats, getting us altogether and making these showcases happen, and to every goat owner who brought their animals along and helped create such a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

It’s so important that we keep getting goats out there, showcasing the different breeds, what they can do and why they deserve their place in British agriculture and conservation. There is a breed out there for everyone.

New patch, new job for the Large Blacks 🐷

They’ve been moved onto their next bit of ground, where they’ll be doing what pigs do best ! Rooting, turning the soil and helping clear the land naturally.

Using livestock as part of land management is nothing new. Native and rare breeds have a valuable role to play in conservation, helping us manage habitats in a way that works with nature rather than against it.

It’s not just about keeping rare breeds for the sake of it, it’s about finding a purpose for them and showing just how useful these old breeds can still be.

One patch at a time 🐽

Building a little goat village out of recycled calf hutches, one-handed with a baby under my arm… because apparently we might actually get rain again someday….🐐🌧️

Making sure the English & Old English goats have somewhere dry to shelter when the Welsh weather remembers what it’s supposed to do.

Rare breeds, recycling and a baby in tow 👶

Sunday scaries, sorted 🐷

Nothing better than ending the weekend with the Large Blacks. Rare breed, big personalities and THE BEST company.
