Sweet Leila was rescued alongside her sister, Ginger, and has been coming to Boujee Pooches for multiple nail trim appointments.
With every visit, she’s grown more and more comfortable, confident and trusting. 🤍

This time was a big milestone it was Leila’s very first full groom, as well as her first time being left 1-to-1 with me! 🥹

And she absolutely smashed it! 💕 From start to finish, Leila did amazingly, and it was so lovely to see how far she’s come.

Building trust takes time, patience and lots of positive experiences, and we’re so proud of this little girl. 🐶✨

Well done, Leila! We can’t wait to see your confidence continue to grow. 💗

Rupert 🪴🌷🌼🐾

Airedales are known as the “King of Terriers” 👑 confident, intelligent, playful and full of personality. And Rupert certainly lives up to the name!

This lovely boy came in for a clip & scissor trim rather than a handstrip, giving his coat a smart, tidy finish while keeping that fabulous Airedale character.

And of course, keeping the lovely big, bushy BEARD!

Puppy introductions are a great opportunity for your puppy to become familiar with the salon, grooming equipment and handling in a calm and positive way.

🐶 Why is early desensitisation important?

Introducing your puppy to grooming from a young age can help them gradually become comfortable with the sights, sounds, smells and sensations involved in being groomed.

Early positive experiences can help build confidence and make future grooming sessions a much more relaxed experience. Puppies can learn that being handled, having their paws, ears and face touched, hearing clippers and dryers, and standing on the grooming table are all normal parts of their routine.

The aim is not to rush the process, but to create positive experiences at your puppy’s own pace. Building this trust early can make a big difference as they grow into adult dogs. 🤍🐾

What a difference a little time, patience and trust can make. ❤️

Micky can find grooming quite overwhelming and, on his first visit, needed extra support to help him feel safe and comfortable. Coming into his second groom, he already showed such a positive change.

He was much more settled, showed very little anxiety and trusted me enough to allow me to complete the majority of his groom. 🥹

Building a relationship with a nervous dog isn’t about rushing the process. It’s about listening to their communication, respecting their boundaries and allowing them to progress at their own pace.

We still have a way to go, but the progress Micky has made in just two visits is fantastic. I’m incredibly proud of him and look forward to continuing to build on the trust we’ve started to develop. ❤️🐶
