My name is Liz Knights, and I started my home boarding business in 2011. Having had dogs all my life, it was a natural route to take as I knew I could put my years of experience to good use. We pride ourselves at Oaklands in offering a safe, happy and loving environment to all our doggy guests, who become part of the family for their stay. Our aim is to provide a stress free holiday for both you a

nd your dog and look forward to seeing you come back to us again. Oaklands Homeboarding for Dogs is fully licensed by South Norfolk District Council, licence number AB73 and I have recently been awarded a 5 star rating. Also I am CRB checked and have full insurance. Oaklands is set in a large, safe and secured half acre garden surrounded by beautiful meadows, with miles of lovely country walks. Our doggy visitors, have full access to our home and garden during their stay with us. We can maintain any routine that you have in place at home, including feeding times, sleeping arrangements and exercise. In order for your dog to feel at home with us, we recommend you provide bedding, food and toys. If your dog also requires a crate, we can accomodate that too. We do ask that all our guests are up to date with their vaccinations, this includes kennel cough. Please note that we do not take uncastrated males. All dogs must also be up to date with flea and worming treatments.

🐾I can't believe we're at the end of another week and almost into September!! We've had a busy week and with school holidays now finishing the Autumn months are booking up quickly. It's been so refreshing having the cooler weather and some rain. At last the grass is starting to recover and the dogs have loved having the old routines back in play. 🐾We've been one big happy bunch at Oaklands this week. No hot days hallelujah!!! The dogs have been so pleased to get back to the routine they love. Ball games, cool walks, lots of chasing each other and too many treat hunts!!😂😂. We've even had some showers thrown in, which dare I say it we could certainly do with as the garden is in one sorry state! We've had several boarders in this week including Lovely Lottie, The Gent Domino, Lord Harley and Little Missy. Our daycares have been Mr Blue, Mr Bear, Boss girl Poppy, Saucey Cecil, Pretty Phoebe, Sir Roddy, Ted Little, Miss Pickles and our girl Scrappy Doo Mae. Here are lovely pics of our guests this week🐾

🐾Thank absolute goodness this is the last day of this extreme heat. Unfortunately I've not got many photos to share this week as it was a week of mainly indoor play and keeping the dogs cool and hydrated. Even being in the shade was way to hot for them and myself. Unfortunately due to water restrictions I'm unable to keep refilling the paddling pool, and quite right too as rules are rules!!!

We welcomed a new little lady today for her trial. Her name is Dora, and she settled in really well. A very friendly, sociable little girl who is extremely cuddly!🥰 Both Mae and Miss Pickle made her most welcome first thing this morning. Sadly again we've not been able to do our usual walks and fun in the garden. But she was quite happy keeping in the cool with us and enjoyed some indoor games. Hopefully Dora will be joining us for her holidays and meeting more of the Oaklands doggies in the future!🐾

🐾 We've had a busy week here at Oaklands with our holiday boarders.We have also had some last minute boarder bookings, along with some of our daycare doggies. The high temperatures have changed our dynamics slightly over the last few weeks and I think myself and the lovely dogs have had enough of the extreme heat. But with yet another heatwave forcast for next week, the priority will be keeping the dogs cool and hydrated. Our lovely borders this week have been Archie, Coco, Ted Little, Buzz and Belle. Roddy, Poppy, Domino, Phoebe and Miss Pickle visited us for daycare.🐾

🐾We also welcomed Cooper for his trial today! What a lovely, friendly little character he is. The dogs all welcomed him this morning. He enjoyed the first walk of the day with Miss Pickles. He joined in with play and even paid Ted Little a visit and introduced himself. Cooper hopefully will be joining us for his holidays!!

🐾 We have welcomed the first of our upcoming trials today! This is little Sybil and what a lovely confident little girl she is. She has run rings round sweet Sadie today, but Sadie being the lovely natured girl she is was happy to oblige!! All the doggies have made her most welcome!. I think we shall have some worn out pooches tonight especially you young Sybil!!😂😂! We hope you latitude mummies who have dropped your girlies off have a lovely weekend!!🐾

🐾 Another hot week coming to an end, with hopefully some cooler weather on the horizon. We've remained sensible in terms of exercise and play in this heat, but the dogs loved their last hour today letting off some steam as it became cooler. The next few weeks are going to be quite full with holiday dogs arriving for their summer breaks. We may have some lovely new arrivals showing their faces in the coming weeks. Several trials are now booked in which I'm really looking forward to. Most of these have been through recommendations, so I thank you all so much for those that have taken the time to do that it's so appreciated. 🐾🐾 Our weekend delights, Serious Stanley, Bonkers Benny, Lord Harley, Sir Roddy, Beauty Belle and Funny Boy Fudge!! Along with our bundle of Scrappy Doo Mae. This little group got on like a house on fire!! Girlies were definitely outnumbered with the boys, but who cares they certainly didn't. Very hapoy hounds !! 🐾🐾

🐾 Here we go again preparing ourselves for another hot week! Early mornings, late evening walks is becoming part of the norm.. Our guests this weekend have been our holiday boarders Sweet Sadie, Beautiful Belle, Sir Roddy alongside our gal Scrappy Doo Mae. The paddling pool is out this morning filled with the help of Sadie pups, plenty of veg bobbing which the dogs loved and a good old splash about. Here are some pics of our guests.🐾

We have welcomed a lovely new little fella to Oaklands recently. His name is Sir Roddy and he will be joining us for his holidays and also a Thursday for daycare. I have to say what a lovely boy he is and is so similar to the gent Domino. He loves all the dogs he meets and if there's a bit of banter play going on he will put himself forward to get involved and enjoy the play! But he is also a very gentle, submissive and extremely cuddly little boy, and I have to say has slotted in perfectly with the Oaklands doggies! Mae says he passed his test 100% and she's very happy to have him as a play mate. We look forward to you meeting more of the mad hounds here over the months to come.🐾
