Why I'm Becoming a Professional Dog Walker
Good day, everyone.
If you had told me a while ago that I’d be trading a traditional schedule to spend my days on the trails, I would have said it sounded like a dream. Today, I am making that dream my reality. I am choosing to become a professional dog walker, and for me, this is far more than just a job change—it is a true calling.
My vision for this business, Miles with Giles Dog Walking, is built on a simple belief: every dog deserves a safe, fulfilling, and joyful life. I am focused on providing dedicated, specialist care. This includes carefully managed, small group walks for dogs who thrive on socialisation, as well as tailored solo walks for reactive, high-needs, or anxious dogs who require a calm, structured, and patient environment.
To ensure I provide the absolute best care possible, I am currently undertaking a dog behavioural course. By deeply studying dog body language and positive reinforcement techniques, I can safely manage group dynamics, understand individual boundaries, and give every dog the specialized support they need.
For absolute peace of mind, I am also obtaining a full DBS check and comprehensive public liability insurance. I believe that passion must be backed by professionalism, safety, and accountability.
Dogs give us their absolute best every day, offering unmatched loyalty and companionship. In return, they deserve handlers who prioritize their security and well-being above all else. Transitioning into this field allows me to turn this dedication into a trusted service that truly helps local families.
