🎂 Happy 3rd Birthday Ozzy! 🐾

Our gorgeous long haired Dachshund Ozzy is 3 today! 🤎

Ozzy is quite happy doing his own thing, and you’ll usually find him happily chilling with his friends and taking everything in around him. He’s very well behaved and knows all of his tricks, so he’s ready to show off when there is a treat involved.

Although he’s more than happy having a relaxed day, Ozzy does love getting involved when something catches his eye. He’ll often join in with our agility sessions or have a go at some of our enrichment activities, especially when there’s something interesting (or tasty!) waiting for him.

He’s such a lovely, easy going boy and we love having him here with us. 🥰

🎂 Happy 7th Birthday, Fox! 🦊❤️
We’ve had the pleasure of having Fox at Oxford Pet Whisperers since she was a puppy, and it’s been so lovely watching her confidence grow! 🐾 Recently, she’s been showing more and more of her playful side, and we love to see it! 🐶💕
Fox can be a tough cookie to crack, but once you’ve won her over, she’s the sweetest soul! 🥰 Her favourite boys, Chester, Zac and Lenny, certainly know how to bring out her playful side. 🤪
Her top priorities? Treats, trainers, her dog friends and the occasional trip to the sand pit! 🎉

👋🏼 Meet Selene 🐾🌸
At just 4 months old, this Cocker Spaniel already has a big personality! 🐶💗 Selene is a little bundle of fun who is always ready to see what’s happening around daycare.
She might be one of the smaller pups, but that certainly hasn’t stopped her from making friends with dogs of all sizes. Selene happily throws herself into playtime and loves having other puppies around to run around and explore with 🐕✨
There’s plenty to keep her entertained throughout the day too! Splashing about in the pools 💦 or learning a new trick with our trainers 🧠🐾 Selene is always keen to have a go.
We love seeing her confidence shine through and watching her discover something new every time she visits. We’ve got a feeling there are plenty more adventures ahead for this little one! 💗🐾

Happy 5th birthday to our lovely Brontë! 🐾🎂

Brontë is definitely one who loves being the centre of attention, and she’ll happily soak up all the fuss whenever she gets the chance. You’ll often find her curled up on the sofa having a snooze with her friends, although she does still enjoy the occasional run around the garden when she’s feeling up to it!

Of course, we can’t mention Brontë without mentioning her brother Blyton. The two of them are rarely seen without each other and are always happiest when they’re together. Whether they’re having a play or simply settling down for a nap, they’re never far apart.

And if there’s one thing Brontë is always interested in, it’s food! She certainly knows when there’s a treat going and will make sure she’s never left out. 😂

We hope you’ve had the best 5th birthday, Brontë, and enjoyed plenty of fuss, food, cuddles and time with your favourite people and friends. 💕🐶

🐶 Have you just welcomed a new puppy into your family? Or worried you’ve already missed that all important socialisation window? 🐾💛

The first 12-16 weeks of a puppy’s life are a crucial time for socialisation. What they experience during these early weeks can have a lasting impact on their confidence, behaviour and how they interact with the world around them.

But here’s something we wish more puppy owners knew...

Socialisation isn’t about putting a group of puppies together and letting them play!

In fact, getting it wrong can do more harm than good.

Puppies need to learn much more than how to play. They need to understand other dogs’ body language, respect boundaries, develop good manners and, just as importantly, learn when not to interact.

💛 At Oxford Pet Whisperers, we’re dog trainers first.

That means we don’t simply supervise puppies playing together. We actively teach, guide and manage their interactions, making sure every puppy is learning the right things at their own pace.

We know when to encourage an interaction, when to step in and when a puppy needs a little space. We focus just as much on calm behaviour, confidence and settling around other dogs as we do on play.

And if your puppy is already past those first 16 weeks, don’t panic! Socialisation doesn’t suddenly stop. There’s still plenty we can do to help them build confidence and develop positive social skills.

Because it’s not about how many dogs your puppy meets. It’s about what they learn from every interaction. 🐾💛

Happy 6th birthday to our Frankie girl! 💗🎉

Our lovely Tibetan Terrier has a few favourite things in life, and seeing our trainers is definitely one of them! Whether she’s joining in with agility or finding the perfect sunny spot for a snooze, Frankie is always happy doing her own thing. And of course, no day would be complete without spending some time with her boyfriend Blyton!

Wishing Frankie the happiest of birthdays, with plenty of treats, sunshine and all the fuss she deserves. Have the best day, gorgeous girl! 🩷

👋🏼 Welcome Winnie 🐾🤍
Meet our gorgeous 1 year old Saluki, Winnie! 🐶✨ She’s a lovely girl who knows exactly how to enjoy her time at daycare, especially when there’s something fun to get stuck into!
Winnie absolutely loves getting involved with enrichment activities 🧠🐾 and is always happy when it’s time to explore something new. She’s also a big fan of the pool, where she can splash around and cool off 💦🌊
When she’s not busy with enrichment or enjoying the water, Winnie loves spending time with her friends. Milo is a particular favourite, and the two of them are always happy to have some fun together! 🐕💕
It’s so lovely seeing Winnie enjoying herself, coming out of her shell and making friends. We’re always excited to see what she’ll get up to next! 🐾✨
