My name is Julia and I am a fully qualified and insured trainer, educated and assessed by the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (the leading educational body for trainers & behaviourists worldwide) with external verification provided by the Open College Network. I am an invited member of The Pet Professional Guild. I am a UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze Level Scent Work Instructor. All training, support & advice embraces modern, positive methods & uses reward-based techniques. These have been scientifically proven to give long lasting results without causing intimidation, fear or pain or using any aversive devices. It is often referred to as positive reinforcement but put simply, it’s giving something a dog loves in exchange for the behaviours we desire. Science also tells us that you learn much better when you’re having fun! I will show you the best way to teach your dog so they are super keen to learn & get it right. 🐾🎓 Congratulations to Teams Pippa, Milo, Dudley & Ottie who graduated Puppy School yesterday and what a fabulous class to return to as I resumed teaching again 🤩🐾

🩵 We had a fabulous final session exploring puppy parkour, learning about polite on lead greetings and finishing with some guided free play where we observed body language and incorporated emotional transitioning to keep the puppies calm & regulated 🧡

🐾🩵 One of the reasons I love my venue at The Rowdey Cow is because of the animals with ponies, goats, pigs, peacocks & guinea fowl always around.
So many opportunities to work with our dogs arise from their presence.

When you welcome a puppy into your family, management is just as important as training.

Management prevents mistakes.

Training teaches skills.

Management alone will not teach a puppy what to do.

Training alone doesn’t make an environment less tempting or more safe.

So, management and training must operate side by side with each other.

Management means organising your puppy’s environment and daily routine to support good choices and reduce the possibility of unwanted behaviour.

A well-managed environment:
reduces the need for constant intervention;
keeps puppy safe;
prevents unwanted behaviours becoming habits;
promotes relaxation;
allows you to focus on rewarding good choices;
sets puppy up for success while they learn the skills they need to live in our world

If darker mornings and evenings and the likelihood of wetter weather doesn’t appeal.
If you’d like time out, just you and your puppy/dog to train.
If you’d benefit from a guaranteed safe, enclosed space with a range of equipment.
Then my barn may be the perfect place.

Over the coming months, it is currently available on:
Saturday afternoons / evenings
Sundays anytime
Mondays anytime
Tuesdays - Thursdays early mornings

This gorgeous boy not only found himself in a lovely new home this summer, he also benefited from having his own, dedicated, equipped space to train each morning.

🐾🎓 Very well deserved congratulations to these gorgeous pups who graduated yesterday from a cheeky little Puppy Plus class that I returned to earlier on in September.
Teams Lila, Angus & Fred alongside Spanner (not pictured) 🎓🐾

🧡 Moving forwards, my Puppy Plus & Teenage Tinker classes have now been replaced by Training Club - individually booked sessions running on a regular basis with a choice of days for puppies 24 weeks and older.
The ideal way to continue training at your pace into adolescence and beyond.
Sessions for the rest of this year are now booking online through my website or use the link in the comments.
For puppies under 24 weeks, book one of my 6 week Puppy Schools or Puppy Club 🩵
