While some large employers continue to stay open and off-licences were yesterday re-designated as 'essential', a local dog groomer has voiced concern that many pets in the town and surrounding area will suffer from overgrown claws and uncomfortable matted coats, which may impair their eyesight and hearing, if they are not able to be groomed properly in the coming weeks and months - is this an animal welfare issue?

With a relatively low-risk booking in procedure, minimal public contact and relieving pressure from vets, who are only open for emergencies, the groomer asks, should this be regarded as an essential service, if only for emergencies/elderly/vulnerable clients?

Unfortunately folks with these challenging times I've made the decision to close. I think we would need to all stay at home an self isolate to prevent the spread of this terrible virus and to support all our NHS working heroes. I'm very sorry cancelling those that were booked in but they will be first in once we reopen in the near future. Thank you for all your support and please please stay safe.
