🐾 Let’s introduce Sam Ham! 🇫🇷🐱

Sam Ham has been busy preparing for her travels over the last few weeks! ✈️ She’s visited the vets for her routine booster vaccination and rabies vaccination, all in preparation for her trip to Paris. 🇫🇷

When travelling to an EU country, pets need the appropriate travel documentation, including an Animal Health Certificate. But this little tinker had other plans! 🤦‍♀️

Just a couple of days before her health certificate appointment and departure, Sam Ham decided to tuck into her owner’s lovely cashmere jumper! 🧶😳

🚨 Why is this important?

If you suspect your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t have, it’s essential to seek veterinary advice promptly. Swallowed materials, such as fabric or wool, can cause foreign body obstructions, which can become serious and potentially life-threatening.

🐾 Remember:

🩺 Early veterinary intervention allows your vet to assess the risks and advise on the safest next steps.

⚠️ Symptoms may not appear immediately, so don’t wait for your pet to become unwell before seeking advice.

❤️ Never attempt to make your pet vomit or pull out any material you can see without veterinary guidance.

Thankfully, Sam Ham’s story is a reminder that even when we’re busy preparing for exciting adventures, our pets can still find mischief along the way!

A little reminder from us: if your pet eats something they shouldn’t, contact your vet straight away. It could make all the difference. 🐾❤️

Meet Sabrina our student Veterinary Nurse. Her scrubs are maroon, so you can see she is a student.

As most of you are aware Sabrina has been with us a long time, but has now decided to take on the apprenticeship route for her Veterinary Nurse training. She goes to college one day a week and gets all her practical training within practice. The course is three years long, with multiple exams, course works and practical exams along the way. Sabrina is half way through her first year and is doing amazing. Well done Sabrina 🎉

Introducing our Qualifield Veternairy Nurse's Staci and Jo, you may have noticed they wear green scrubs. This is a traditional colour for Veternairy nurses to wear.

A nurses role within the practice is a varied one, from nursing sick patients, preparing animals for surgery, taking blood samples, helping the vets with diagnostics test. To booking appointments and insurance claims. This is to name a few jobs they do in practice.

Friday night challenge, remove a spring from round a tooth!

Cheeky Moshka had found a old peg in the garden to chew, luckily the owner saw the metal in her mouth and brought her down to us. After a some sedation, we successfully removed the spring.

Hopefully Moshka won't be too sore with her pain relief at home 🏡
