I was thinking today about what type of human children my giant horse children would be reflecting their personalities.

I think Ellin would be the studious, straight A student, not willing to take anyone’s messing around, with tidy hair and clean nails! 😇

Eve on the other hand would be barefoot, playing in the mud and eating worms 🪱!

What type of kid would your giant child be?? Post below with a pic of your big kids 🐴🐴

On the 27th June I’m going to be doing a 13mile walk with a group of four lovely ladies for the Alzheimer’s Society. The funds raised go towards ongoing care and support for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and supports research for this awful disease which currently has no cure.

Some of you may know that I lost my Dad, David, to Alzheimer’s in 2020, and also help care for my mum, Lillian, who has also been diagnosed with the disease.

If you can spare any amount towards this important charity, please donate below.

Thank you 🙏

Help Emma Barber raise money to support Alzheimer's Society

Today I’ve been on a CPD with Denise Cheese from Sussex Equine for a kinesio-taping day, an exciting modality that I can easily incorporate in to my current work to help all your wonderful horses!

K-tape is useful for:
🐎Muscle application activation
🐎muscle application relaxation
🐎Fascia restriction
🐎Circulation/lymphatic
🐎Support/stabilisation
🐎Decompression, reduce inflammation and pain relief

It’s a skill that can be easily taught to owners for home/continued treatment after a veterinary physiotherapy session, and is useful as part of any rehabilitation program.

I’ll be planning to incorporate this technique in the coming weeks.

Another post looking at the conflict behaviours seen in modern competition.

Opening the debate of what has been normalised in today’s sports.

On of my big bug bears is how saddle racks are made, with many traditional saddle racks causing damage to the underside of your saddle, which then of course impacts your saddle fit!

I often tell my clients (thank you Sophie!) to pad their saddle racks with an old pillow wrapped on with duct tape and have done this to my own racks.

But today I’ve been told about this solution made by saddle smiths! A great option to stop damage to the underside of your saddle!!

A small business providing a quick and easy solution to protecting your saddle and its panels.

Oooh, this looks an interesting idea to try! I think I need to get Eve a snazzy head scarf!
