🐾 Meet Basil🐾

This gorgeous little Collie visited our Alfreton team for his very first vet visit with Nurse Anj and Vet Laila. 💛

As you can see, being cute, receiving lots of fuss and enjoying plenty of treats is very hard work! 🥰 Basil decided he needed a little power nap to recharge his batteries. 😴🐶

Basil has now joined our Pet Health Club, so we look forward to seeing him each month for his flea and worming appointments, keeping an eye on his growth and helping him build lots of positive experiences at the vets as he grows up. 🐾💚

We can't wait to watch this little cutie grow! 😍

🐶💙 Bear the support bear! 💙🐶

This is Bear, an adorable 8-month-old Pomeranian who recently came along to our Shelton Lock site to support his brother, who wasn’t feeling very well. 🥺🐾

While his brother was being seen by the team, Bear hung out on reception with our Client Care Advisor, Poppy — and he absolutely loved giving her plenty of hugs and kisses! 🥰💋

Sometimes, when our pets aren’t feeling their best and have to visit the vets, having a familiar friend or companion with them can help them feel more comfortable and secure. 💙

This can be especially important for social species such as rabbits and guinea pigs, who often feel safer and less stressed when they have a bonded companion nearby. 🐰🐹💕

Well done, Bear — we think you make a very good support bear! 🐻🐾

🐈‍⬛🖤 MEET TOMMY! 🖤🐈‍⬛

This handsome boy is Tommy, a rescue cat who recently came to see us at Allestree for his vaccinations and flea and worm treatment. 💉🐾

Tommy is such a curious and affectionate boy, with a muscular build and a gorgeous all-black coat — even his paws and whiskers are black! 🖤😻

Tommy is a Bombay cat, and we think his striking looks make him pretty special! 🥰

It was lovely to see this gorgeous rescue boy and give him plenty of fuss during his visit. 💙🐾

🐾Meet Edward🐾

This handsome boy is Edward who belongs to one our our Vets, Klyn. Edward recently came to our Pride Park Veterinary Centre for patella luxation surgery with our first opinion orthopaedic surgical team. 🐶💙

But what exactly is patella luxation? The patella is the kneecap, and in some dogs it can slip out of its normal groove in the knee joint. This can cause discomfort, lameness and difficulty using the leg, and in some cases surgery is recommended to help stabilise the kneecap and improve the function of the joint.

Edward received plenty of care before, during and after his surgery from his devoted nursing team, who were there to keep him comfortable and make sure he was well looked after throughout his stay. 🥰🐾

He was a very brave boy, and we’re wishing Edward a smooth recovery! 💙

🐾 Cuddly Canine🐾

Bonnie came to see our team the other day for her check-up and was a brilliant patient! 🥰 She gave our nurse, Helen, plenty of cuddles and kisses along the way. 💕

Bonnie’s owners were told she was a Dogue de Bordeaux crossed with an Akita, but we think she has a rather Staffordshire Bull Terrier-shaped head! 👀🐶

What do you think Bonnie is crossed with? Let us know your guesses in the comments below! 👇
