๐ฐ We would like to remind our clients to take extra care with acorns this year. Acorns can be toxic, horseโs generally do not consume large amounts due to the bitter taste but some horses can develop a taste for them. Please remain vigilant especially due to a bumper crop this year.
Prevention:
๐ณ If possible, remove horses off pasture where acorns have fallen heavily or fence off areas around the trees ๐ง
๐พ Ensure supplementary feed is provided away from trees if forage is low.

๐ฅ๐ด Off feed
๐ฉ ๐ฉธ Blood in urine or faeces, diarrhoea
