I genuinely don’t know where to start with this one🥹

6 months ago, The Adored Dog Spa was just an idea. I wasn’t thinking about awards, finalists or recognition. I just wanted to create a salon where dogs could have a calm, positive grooming experience and owners felt completely comfortable leaving their dogs in my care. A place where every dog is treated as an individual, every appointment is given the time it deserves and quality is never rushed

To now be a finalist for Best New Business feels completely surreal!!

If I’m honest, I spend so much of my time worrying about whether I’m doing enough, whether I’m making the right decisions and whether I’m giving every dog and owner the experience they deserve. When people tell me how busy I am, I usually see the stress before I see the achievement. But I think this nomination has made me stop for a second and realise that being busy isn’t something to apologise for

Every appointment booked, every recommendation, every review and every returning client is somebody choosing to support my business, and that means more than I can put into words. Thank you for keeping me so busy over the last 6 months. Thank you for trusting me with your dogs, recommending me to friends, sharing my posts and supporting The Adored Dog Spa in any way. None of this would be possible without you guys!!

Being named a finalist is something I never imagined when I opened my doors, and I honestly feel like this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to keep growing, keep learning and continuing to build The Adored Dog Spa into everything I’ve always dreamed it could be 🤍

4 full grooms, 1 nail clip & lots of Chester interruptions 😂 honestly remembering to take photos is genuinely so hard when you’re in the zone. definitely need to do a proper one in future with all the behind the scenes stuff, bath time, drying, the clean up in between! maybe even an evening in the life too?! 🤔

what you don’t see is me chewing every single owner’s ear off at collection for a good 10-15 minutes 😂 I tell myself it’ll be a quick handover and then somehow we’re still there chatting. I love it honestly, it’s one of my favourite parts 🤍

I was hoping for a litttttle 🤏🏻 more leg growth but hey ho! definitely still need to work on my beveled feet/flared legs but I just cannot get my head around them for some reason 🤯 This is only my 3rd attempt so please don’t judge me 🫣

longer styles are so rare for me to do nowadays so I’ll take any practice I can get!! that’s the thing about grooming though, no matter how long you’ve been doing it there is always something to work on and improve. every single groom I try to get at least one thing better than the last, and honestly that’s what I love about my job so much 💞

I opened just 6 months ago. SIX MONTHS. I do this completely on my own and I genuinely never expected something like this so early on. Every single client who has trusted me with their dog, shared a kind word, or supported me along the way, I’m so grateful for you! it really does mean everything!!

I’ve been grooming for 6 years and these are the things I’ve ALWAYS been rubbish at😅 Some of them I’ll probably never fix. But I still love every single day of it and I’m still finding my feet and my balance with it all on the business side of things!! 🙏🏻

3.5 hours of prepping & grooming and competition entry number two submitted 🫡
I’ll find out at the end of July whether I place or not 🤞🏻

In my 6 years of grooming I’ve only ever done a big bichon head once before which was Lucky’s first visit 🤣 and it was SO out of my comfort zone. Still was today for the second time, but so much less so!! I’m really happy with how he’s turned out, such a patient & lovely boy 🫶🏻​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Maybe my partner will let me get my own poodle one day so I can progress onto in person comps but probably not 🤣
