This week is a busy week painting stables! A job that has been on the list a little too long. It’s a big task! But we are doing our best to get it done. It’s not just for the look it’s about the horses having clean fresh stables. It just looks nice…. Until they come back in! 💩💩🤣 only about 20 more to go! 😰 so here is a picture so I can prove it was clean! 🤣🤣🤣

Andy’s NLE clinic in French Classical schooling. Some great fun and progress made by all. A couple of pictures from the weekend. Firstly Emma and Sev the PRE. Emma worked on lunging and changes of balance between high and light to neck extension in walk and trot. As well as some counter shoulder in. Really proud of them both!
Then we have Monika and her horse Arwen. Shire cross fell. Monika has recently started Arwen under saddle with me. This weekend saw the first ridden trot! As well as doing lunging.
All horses and riders played with flexions on the ground help the horse to raise the base of the neck, in a high and light position. Then starting some bend flexions both left and right.
I’m very proud of all the riders and horses. Sadly don’t have any pictures of the others. All people came out of their comfort zones and took a great step forward in their training and confidence.

NLE clinic with Andy. This combination have just started their ridden journey and the starts of French Classical schooling. Both did very well. Today we started the trot! A big step for the rider Monika. Arwen gave all the signs she was ready to start work at the trot! I’m so proud of them
Also we have Emma and her horse Sev who also did trot work today. A big step for Emma who has had some nerves about riding. So wasn’t expecting me to ask her to trot but again the horse looked ready!
Then finally we have Jane and Dulce. Dulce likes to take control of situations for her own benefit. So today we worked on that. She has a tendency to threat the rider so they quit. We worked on being passively persistent in the ask. Also Jane rode her today which was the first time in a long time.
I’m so proud of every horse and rider today. Hopefully some more pics of the others tomorrow. Well done all! X

QUESTION: If you treated your partner or a loved one the way you treated your horse when riding or training how would they feel?? Would they feel you were kind? Would they feel rushed? Would they feel you were a great partner?? Or would you be getting a divorce???

Be honest! No one is perfect!

If this makes you think…. Tell us what you you’d do better with your horse from now on?? Would you give your horse more time to respond? Would you praise more? Imagine that feeling your horse or your loved one would have if they felt appreciated!

What a 🔥 day!! So often people think it’s a good idea to bring horses into the stables on a hot day, to keep them out of the sun! Good idea we thinks….. but is it?? The barn was muggy hot and airless. Despite windows open both doors either end. Horses indoors like my Cisco was dripping with sweat! Horses outside….. not dripping with sweat. They had a little breeze that was drying them off and in the process cooling them off. Most of the horses had a hose off today both indoor and outside ones. It’s a good idea to choose on the day which is best for our horses. Rather than assume barns are cooler.

Meet Hero! Irish Draught c**t. I accidentally found him and fell in love! He is only 8 months old and was a late foal born late August. He wasn’t planned! His dad popped into his mums paddock for a one night stand and he is the product! He was proper sleepy! A big day for him…… and me! I will be posting his progress and all the firsts I can! Tonight he is in chilling in the stable. Tomorrow he will go out and start to learn our routine.
