Meet Hero! Irish Draught c**t. I accidentally found him and fell in love! He is only 8 months old and was a late foal born late August. He wasn’t planned! His dad popped into his mums paddock for a one night stand and he is the product! He was proper sleepy! A big day for him…… and me! I will be posting his progress and all the firsts I can! Tonight he is in chilling in the stable. Tomorrow he will go out and start to learn our routine.

🐴 What a brilliant day at NLE!

We had with us today, demonstrating how Evo Boots are custom-moulded directly to each horse’s hoof for the perfect fit.

It was amazing to see the process up close - combining precision, comfort, and performance to support our horses in the best way possible. The level of detail that goes into getting that bespoke fit is seriously impressive.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and got involved - it’s always great bringing learning, innovation, and horse welfare together here at the yard.

I’ve had a great time in Switzerland learning from Philippe Karl’s Swiss clinic. He really is a master! A nice picture of myself and our UK instructor Sylvia Stossel with Philippe. Watching the Swiss riders and their beautiful horses was a pleasure! Especially watching Sylvia ride her young lusitano gelding. The horse is a big red! He was one of the instructors horses. He’s a sensitive soul!

Recently we have had a fair few new followers to our page. So I thought it would be nice to welcome you and introduce ourselves! I’m Andy… the bald one! And Shane the blond one. We started our yard over 5 years ago. I’m the horsey one (Andy) and Shane is the non horsey one who runs the behind the scenes business stuff. I wanted to have my own yard for a long time, but I never really believed it would be possible. Until I gave up my day job and said stuff it! Firstly running a yard for someone else then finally the chance to open my own. We have livery, indoor arena and venue hire, outdoor arena and a canter track. We hold a number of clinics all through the year, from western to horsemanship and French Classical Dressage. Keep an eye on our page for the details. We hope to see you down the road! 😁

A great ecole de legerete clinic! My first as a trainee teacher! Some nice pics of my quarter horse Cisco! He tries so hard. He is really coming along nicely! Thank you to Sylvia Stossel master teacher for her great lessons! We love it!

Come watch Sylvia Stossel teach here at NLE this Friday to Sunday. Sylvia is a master teacher of the ecole de legerete, and will be teaching the UK teachers and student teachers as well as some students that have taken rider places. It will be a mix of more advance riding as well as some pedagogy lesson starting from the very beginning. We are incredibly lucky to have Sylvia come and teach here. Her experience and her great teaching always leaves people feeling motivated to move forward with their training, as well as bringing some fun and humour along the way! Tickets can be bought on the day. Tea, coffee and cakes available! Everyone loves cake!!!! 🍰

Next weekend you can join Légèreté Master teacher Sylvia Stössel as she heads up the Advanced instructor training course at Naturally Light Equitation.

Sylvia took over from Philippe Karl several years ago as he reduced his teaching schedule, and she has proved to be very popular with students and auditors alike. She deeply understands the principles of Légèreté and is able to adapt them for application suitable for each and every horse. Behind this sits many years of training in Portugal with French classical masters, and a passion for teaching the necessity of a good seat.

She is still actively training her own horses, so is also a dedicated student as well as a teacher. This means she understands the truth of the challenge for riders, and brings with her a huge amount of compassion and good humor.

This clinic welcomes a mix of licensed instructors, foundation teachers and open place riders - so there will be be something for everyone.

Little life update: I’m have an op on the 14th January and will be off for a few weeks following. So I won’t be able to do lessons again until February some time. Im not going to put a date on when yet, as I don’t want to tempt fate! 😂
My lovely team will be looking after things on the yard, so please be patient with them as they are covering me. I will of course be available for any messages and advice!
I’m super excited about this year with my own horses and training! And will be sharing lots on socials…. Got a new camera for Xmas! 😂
Hope everyone is enjoying the dry frosty days as much as Molly is! She loves the snow! Stay warm and safe in this weather and look forward to seeing you all at some point this year!
