I never actually imagined looking after a gecko!

After living in Australia for many years I'm used to seeing these beautiful creatures on my bedroom wall. It is a different thing actually caring for one.

I find myself chatting away with Bilbo and can actually see that he's listening. We talk all about the geckos in Australia and what they get up to.

Whatever the animal, I believe that it's important to communicate with them. It can be a very lonely existence for them otherwise.

I'm back with the gentle trio of greyhounds in Tavistock. They're incredibly sweet and calming to be around.

I'm also caring for an elderly lab called Boris. He's 15. He's a tender soul đź’•.

I've been trying to cool Boris down with wet flannels. He drifted off to sleep quite quickly then.

Jago and I are really enjoying our time together. He's an incredible dog, so calm and cuddly.

It's lovely being back with Reggie. Like other animals, he's suffering in this intense heat. So I've covered him with a wet tea towel and he's been asleep ever since!

Or what about putting a wet towel down on the ground for your pet to lie on?

Another option is a paddling pool. But I suppose their claws might pop it?
