Holly's Doggy Deli, 9 Northumberland Street, Darlington was launched after many years of searching for the perfect treats and accessories for my Cocker Spaniel Holly. After Holly was diagnosed with an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system called GME in January 2015 I realised that I wanted to fulfil my long awaited dream of owning my very own business. The tears streamed down my face

when I saw the “To Let” sign above the shop in Northumberland Street. After talking about my ideas for over a year I could never have dreamed that my ideal shop would ever become available! Needless to say, months later everything became a reality and I officially opened the doors to my very own Pet Boutique on 6th August 2016 with my Best Friend (Holly) by my side. I couldn’t have done it without the support of family and friends. Everyone has been truly amazing! We stock a range of Premium Pet foods catering for even the smallest of mouths. Even the fussiest of dogs are finding enjoyment in our foods because the quality of ingredients are much better than what you’ll find in the commercial brands on most supermarket shelves. Being an independent retailer I wanted our shop to be something special where people would enjoy shopping for their pets. I’m also passionate about what I choose to source before it goes onto the shelves and tend to try out most things with our own dogs first. You can find anything from cheesy dog popcorn, organic home baked treats and even a doggy woofin for those special occasions!! Many of our accessories are handmade like our range of pet beds, collars & leads and even quirky handmade wooden signs and mugs if you’re looking for a special gift. Our shop is perfectly located for customers in Darlington, Yarm, Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe and Teesside overall.

This was her first visit to town and I think she took it all in her stride. A bit different from being on a racing track she’s now enjoying a more relaxed slower pace in life with her new forever family.

And we’ve got some newbies aswell as a few of your favourites in the boxes.

We’ve been stockists of the Green & Wilds brand for 10 years now…omg we’ve been around a while 🤪

A brand that’s wild about healthy stuff just as much as ourselves and it’s great that we’ve been supporting them for so long.

All of the ingredients in their treats range are super natural and super healthy which means they’re also super tasty too 😋

We’re really pleased to say that Dougie's Raw and Natural Dog Food has had such great feedback since adding this new brand to our shop.

Fantastic for portioning, quicker defrost and you can vary your dogs diet that bit more rather than having to stick with the same flavour for 2/3 days.

We can’t wait to add more flavours to the range.

The weather has been super hot this week. We hope your pooches are managing to find the perfect shaded spots to keep cool.

Lots of lucky pups have been able to enjoy our doggy ice cream offer this week.

We’ve had a big natural treats delivery today so we should have you covered for all your dogs favourites over the weekend.

The temperatures have already been exceptionally hot today and I have to be mindful that it is a lot heat wise for Annie to deal with in the shop so I have made the decision that we will open 10am - 1pm.

As the day progresses it gets much harder on her and unfortunately we don’t have any facility for air conditioning.

Tomorrow only we are offering all Scoops dog ice creams for £1 each.

We’d just like to say a big Welcome to Dougie's Raw and Natural Dog Food in our shop this week 👋

Filling up the new freezer when our delivery arrived the other day was definitely a challenge but I got there in the end 🤣

We’re really excited to add this new brand to our shop. Each pack contains 4 x 140g blocks making it fantastic to defrost, a great selection of proteins and options to choose from whether you want to go with the Superfoods range or a selection of the 80:10:10 mixes. The choice is yours.

Dougies Pets is also a very local brand based in North Yorkshire which we totally love so we’re very excited to be able to stock their products.

Thanks to their team recently for being so helpful. The customer service they have provided me with is amazing.

It’s almost time for us to close for the day so whatever you are all upto this weekend. Have a good one 😍

😡 Delivery Problems 😡

Why oh why do companies think they’re going to take over the world and then it’s always the stockist (ie me) chasing my tail with them 🙈

I’m placing orders and meeting deadlines but on Thursday I was told they had cut off orders for despatch early due to the volume so I selected for Saturday delivery. Only for it not to arrive then. Apparently some of the items had gone out of stock so rather than contact me to explain this they just didn’t despatch it at all and I had to call them to find this out. So after making an adjustment to the order I am then promised delivery today before midday only for me to find out it’s with DHL and the status shows that they are unable to track the shipment number.

The other week I ordered on Monday and didn’t end up receiving it until Thursday.
And to tiddle me off even more they end the call by saying have a nice day 😂

So I suppose what I’m trying to say is that when I order things and they don’t turn up I’m just as disheartened as customers if they see the freezer running a bit low. I can only apologise and let you know that I’m always onto it. I’m sure the customer service teams roll their eyes when they see my number on their phones 🤣
