Coast To Coast Exotics Ltd

Coast To Coast Exotics Ltd We are a specialist herpetological shop with a 5 star license (AAL no.- DL25/00849/AN3LIC) based in the North East
(382)

Exotic animal shop specialising in reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and inverts (Lizards, snakes, tortoises, frogs, toads, spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, etc). We are based in Darlington, in the North East of England. We are very lucky to be central in the North of England, day trips are easy from the South, say Leeds or Hull and likewise much the same from the North of the region including Newcas

tle, surrounding areas and the borders. We often have people travelling much further afield (mainly due to our rather unique approach of offering a wide range of animals not easily available else where). We currently have excellent, passionate staff - all have gone through our extensive training, but most have either qualifications and lots of experience. We have excellent parking around the shop, and now have a designated loading area for our customers - thanks Darlington Borough Council! Although we have great pricing for both animals and associated equipment (with surely the only comprehensive array and almost certainly the largest choice and stocking levels, we also provide a great Reward Card Scheme that has proved incredibly popular - with a point collecting system to earn further discounts.

It’s hard to believe that today marks 20 years since the death of Steve Irwin.

For millions of people around the world, Steve made wildlife television feel completely different. His enthusiasm was infectious, whether he was handling crocodiles, snakes or just talking excitedly about an animal he clearly adored. The Crocodile Hunter, which he presented with his wife Terri, became a huge international success and was seen in more than 130 countries.

One of the best stories from Steve and Terri’s life together is that they actually spent their honeymoon trapping crocodiles. Footage from that trip went on to become the first episode of The Crocodile Hunter.

And despite being fearless around huge reptiles, Steve had his own unexpected fears too — including parrots, something that always seemed wonderfully at odds with the man who would happily get within inches of a crocodile.

His work went far beyond television. Steve was deeply committed to conservation, founded what became Wildlife Warriors and spent years promoting the protection of endangered species and habitats.

Steve died on 4 September 2006 at just 44 years old after being struck by a stingray while filming on the Great Barrier Reef.

Twenty years on, his family continues much of the work he started, and his influence on wildlife television and conservation is still very easy to see.
