Scott just picked up this little crow in a bad way on Hundens Lane. Thank you to the person who reported them and the care home for giving him a box and letting him get through to access him.

He is drying off and we will start fluids once fully warmed through

Honestly I can't help but laugh at him 🤣😭

This little one appreciates all the love from his post last night ❤️

We believe we have found him a home 🤞 We just have to work out logistics.

(I kiss him with my lips fully sealed, there is no transfer of saliva, human saliva is actually toxic to birds, you should never kiss with a wet mouth, share food you have taken a bite off or let them in your mouth)

Someone got treated to a new piece of cork bark today after shredding most of his other enrichment 🙈🤣!

He'll be moved outside tomorrow so he can get used to the weather and then can go to a suitable release site. He has been away from his parents too long now so we can't return him there.

The fabric is because woodpeckers prefer to hang, he has multiple options and uses the shirt to climb. He loves the rope swing too as he can grapple the twine to climb to the perch. That's where he usually sleeps

I think I may be in love. This afternoon we got brought this fledgling crow from someone who was concerned about them at their workplace.

The other kind employees had made him a little hut and were giving him food/water but with his condition it wasn't enough.

He has a quite severe eye condition that means he is only able to see shadows, he can't see much at all.

The only thing wrong that I can find is a small hole to the back of his head, so I am leaning towards trauma/infection being the main cause of his blindness.

His feathers are in brilliant condition, so his parents did a great job rearing him, if he was blind to begin with this is less likely to have happened as they will throw babies with issues out.

He'll need his eyes looking into further but there is a high chance that he is a non-releasable bird, so he will need a home.

His home will need to be prepared for a mostly blind bird.

He is young, so he has the advantage that he is more malleable and trusting. He is already happily taking food and sitting with me.

He most likely would struggle in a large set up, so would need something more akin to a home setting where he can be a companion. Let's make this clear, he is not a pet and never should be regarded as such, whoever takes him in will be his guardian and caretaker.

If this is something that you would be interested in, please message us, you must be prepared to care for him ethically and bring him back here if anything goes wrong.

You can help us help them by sending us donations ❤️

We are 100% public funded with no grants, even £2 goes towards our daily bills 🙏

We also have an amazon where you can send us supplies, puppy pads, pigeon corn, safe 4 cleaner, wipes, kitchen roll, supplements and grubs are all used daily and can be found on our wishlist.
