We are now taking bookings for walks at our very own 𝙒𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙤 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠! This is where all of our group walks will take place, giving dogs the opportunity to enjoy adventure, enrichment, exercise and socialisation in a safe, secure place .

Our walks are led by a team 𝒐𝒇 5 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒐𝒈 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔, ensuring every dog receives plenty of supervision, interaction, enrichment and individual attention throughout their time with us.

I’ve seen lots of lovely sighthound puppies over the past couple of weeks… and I can’t lie, I absolutely love it! 🥰

Whisper is my first sighthound and wow… I’ve completely fallen in love with them. Their personalities, their quirks, their zoomies – they’re just incredible! ❤️

Anyway, just look at little Badger the Beddy Whip! 😍 He joined us for socials last week and this week he’ll be taking the next step and joining puppy class.

Our puppy classes are filling up sooo quickly and we now have such a fantastic group of puppies learning, playing and building confidence together. 🐾

Puppyhood is such an important stage in your dog’s life and giving them the right start can make all the difference. That’s exactly what our classes are designed to do – build confidence, create positive experiences and help owners raise happy, well-rounded dogs.

Let’s talk about resource guarding, particularly in puppies.

Meet Flossie 🐾 – the most beautiful Labradoodle puppy.

Flossie started her journey with us in Puppy Foundations before progressing on to Baby Puppy Class. She is now taking part in our Life Skills classes and absolutely SMASHING it!

A few weeks ago during puppy class, Flossie was recalled and some chicken accidentally dropped onto the floor. Luckily, I was standing beside her owner and noticed a resource guarding response around the food.

Fast forward to our 1-2-1 session, where we looked into things a little deeper and discovered this wasn’t the first indication that Flossie was struggling with resource guarding.

We carried out two home visits and, thankfully, since our first session, Flossie has shown zero signs of resource guarding. Her progress has been fantastic for a behaviour that can escalate very quickly if left unaddressed.

This is a very honest post, and I’m incredibly grateful to Flossie’s owner for allowing me to share their story. They did everything they could from the very beginning, but the reality is that in a busy family home, it’s impossible to manage every single interaction. Sometimes unwanted behaviours can develop despite our best efforts.

The important thing is that the signs were recognised early, help was sought immediately, and a plan was put in place before the behaviour had the opportunity to become a much bigger problem.

I’m incredibly proud of both Flossie and her owner. Their hard work and consistency have paid off.

We can’t wait to see them both again on Saturday! ❤️🐾

Coco & Laila 🐾

These two beautiful Spaniels came to us to work on their recall and heel work.

The heel work was sorted very quickly as the foundations were already there. Their recall was already good too, but things became much more challenging around livestock and water.

There had been a few scary incidents in the past involving both sheep and water, which understandably knocked their owner’s confidence.

So, after just two sessions with us, what’s changed?

✅ Two stock-proof dogs
✅ Two dogs that won’t swim unless released
✅ Two much happier dogs whose lives are no longer restricted by unreliable recall

We’re looking forward to their final session next week. Their owner has been incredibly committed throughout the whole process, and watching her confidence grow with every session has been a fantastic reminder of why I love this job so much.

The hard work always pays off when both dogs and owners are willing to put the effort in 👏🐶

❗️❗️ Children Left Alone with Dogs ❗️❗️

All of us at Impackt have mixed feelings about the new legislation being added to the exemptions.

From November 2026, new restrictions will come into force for owners of exempted breeds. It will become illegal to leave a child under 12 unsupervised with an exempt dog. Owners who do so could face prosecution and even have their dog seized.

This is another attempt to reduce dog bites, which continue to increase year after year.

While we welcome this change, we will continue to make the same points we have raised for some time.

Most fatal dog attacks occur in the home. This has always been a major concern with previous restrictions on banned breeds, as there were no safety measures for what happens inside the home, only requirements for leads and muzzles in public.

It is also important to remember that most fatal dog attacks on children happen when an adult is present. In fact, only one of the child fatalities in the lead-up to the ban occurred when a child was alone with the dog.

This new restriction is an important step in raising awareness, but it does not go nearly far enough to prevent future bites and fatalities. We must continue to educate people that the presence of an adult does not automatically guarantee a child’s safety around a dog.

The other major issue is that these restrictions apply only to banned breeds and not to all dogs.

- Any breed can bite.
- Any breed can display aggression.

As Pamela at Impackt has stated many times, restrictions should be based on temperament and behaviour, not breed alone.

Any dog that has shown signs of aggression should be subject to appropriate controls, regardless of breed. That is how we can more effectively and appropriately reduce the number of child injuries caused by dog attacks.

Jack the Jack Russell! 🐾

We had this little ball of energy in for his assessment last week.

Jack had been showing a few concerning behaviours:
• Reactive on lead
• Has had conflict with other dogs
• Hyperactivity

Well, look at the amazing results from his assessment! 👏

Jack came to his first social session today too and absolutely smashed it! We couldn’t be happier with this little guy and the progress he’s already showing.

This is just the beginning of his journey, and we can’t wait to see his progress.

Woody, we’re just as confused as you are about that piece of grass hanging out of your mouth! 🌱😂

On another note, if you’ve noticed we’ve suddenly become a faceless page, don’t panic!
