🐾 Enforcement Action Taken in Stanley 🐾
Neighbourhood Wardens have recently issued Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) to two individuals within the Stanley area following reports and CCTV footage provided by local residents.
One offender was issued with an FPN for dog fouling after failing to pick up after their dog. A second offender received an FPN for littering after picking up their dog's waste but then failing to dispose of the bag responsibly, instead leaving it behind.
Many people are unaware that bagging dog waste and then abandoning it is still an offence. Not only does it create an eyesore, but it can also harm the environment, attract pests and cause unpleasant conditions for other residents.
Dog fouling remains a significant issue within our communities. Dog waste can contain harmful bacteria and parasites which pose risks to public health, particularly for children using parks and open spaces. It also affects the enjoyment of public areas for everyone.
👏 We would like to thank the residents who provided CCTV footage and information that assisted with these investigations.
🐶 Dog owners are reminded that they must clean up after their pets and dispose of dog waste responsibly in a suitable bin.
