❤️ THE SCHOOL FOR DOGS — THE END OF AN ERA ❤️

As I sit here this evening, I find myself reminiscing about my time at the School for Dogs.

Thinking about why I created it in the first place.
Thinking about when those first ideas became a reality.
Thinking about everything it has grown into, everything it has offered, and most importantly, all of the incredible people and dogs who have walked through those doors.

Today, I closed the door for the final time.

And if I’m honest… that really hurts. 💔

The School for Dogs was never just a business to me.

It was my mission.
It was my passion.
It was my safe place.
It was my sanctuary.

I poured my heart and soul into creating somewhere that felt different. Somewhere where people could come without judgement, where dogs could simply be dogs, and where I could help owners understand their dogs rather than simply try to change them.

I wanted it to be a place where nervous dogs could find confidence, where reactive dogs could be understood, where puppies could get the best possible start, and where owners could feel supported rather than blamed.

And I truly believe I achieved that.

That little idea became something incredibly special.

I have met so many wonderful people. Some who came for puppy classes and stayed with me for years. Some who arrived feeling completely overwhelmed and unsure of what to do with their dog. Some who thought they were failing their dogs, only to discover that they simply needed someone to understand them and show them a different way.

And then there were the dogs. 🐾

So many beautiful characters.

Dogs who were frightened.
Dogs who were misunderstood.
Dogs who struggled in the world around them.
Dogs who needed a little more time, a little more patience and a lot more understanding.

I have watched dogs grow in confidence. I've watched relationships between dogs and their people change. I've watched owners suddenly get it — that wonderful moment when everything falls into place and they realise their dog isn't being difficult, naughty or stubborn… they are simply communicating in the only way they know how.

Those moments will stay with me forever.

I have laughed there.
I have cried there.
I have celebrated there.
I have worried there.
I have worked until I had nothing left to give.

And that is probably the hardest part of walking away.

Because I didn't just build the School for Dogs.

I gave it every part of me.

Mentally.
Physically.
Emotionally.

There were days when I was exhausted beyond words, but I would walk through those doors and remember why I was doing it.

Because I cared.

I cared deeply about the dogs.
I cared about their people.
I cared about doing things properly.
I cared about creating a place where kindness, understanding and compassion came first.

And I will always, always be proud of that.

I had planned for the school to continue until the end of September, but outside influencers made that impossible for me to do that, so closing the doors today wasn't the ending I had imagined or wanted.

And that makes today even harder.

There is sadness. There is disappointment. There is a huge amount of emotion.

But alongside that, there is also pride.

Because when I look back at what the School for Dogs became, I know I didn't just build a business.

I built something that mattered.

A place that mattered.

A place that became part of so many people's lives — and became such a huge part of mine.

To every single person who has supported me, trusted me, brought their dogs to me, recommended me, shared my posts, cheered me on, cried with me, laughed with me and believed in what I was trying to achieve…

Thank you.

You will probably never fully understand what your support has meant to me.

And to every dog who has crossed that threshold…

Thank you for teaching me as much as I hope I taught you. 🐾❤️

You have all left paw prints on my heart.

So tonight, I am allowing myself to be sad.

I am allowing myself to grieve the end of something that I loved so very much.

But I am also going to be incredibly proud.

Because the School for Dogs happened.

It was real.

It was special.

And for a time, it was exactly where I was meant to be.

Sometimes I have to close one door, even when I aren't quite ready, so that I can eventually discover what is waiting on the other side.

But I do know this…

PawFecter Dog Training will go on.
The passion hasn't gone.
The love for dogs hasn't gone.
And the lessons, memories and friendships I've made will stay with me forever.

Today I closed the door for the final time.

But I didn't close my heart to the dogs.

And I certainly didn't close the book on everything I still have to give.

One chapter has ended. ❤️🐾

Thank you, School for Dogs, for everything.

You took every part of me…

…but you also gave me some of the most incredible memories of my life.

And for that, I will always be grateful. ❤️

💛 A PERSONAL UPDATE FROM ME 💛

I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet on Facebook lately.

If I’m completely honest, it has been such an emotional time for me that I’ve struggled with social media. I’ve found it difficult to put into words everything that has been happening behind the scenes, and sometimes I’ve simply needed to step away from it all for a little while.

After a lot of thought, emotion and some very difficult decisions, I can now confirm that PawFecter School for Dogs will officially close its doors on 31st August. 🐾

This is incredibly emotional for me.

The school has been such a huge part of my life. It has been the place where so many puppies took their first steps, where nervous dogs found confidence, where families learned to understand their dogs and where I have met so many incredible people.

But PawFecter is so much more than the school. ❤️

It is the relationships I’ve built, the dogs I’ve had the privilege of helping, the families I’ve supported and, most importantly, the work I am so passionate about.

So whilst the physical school is closing, I’m not walking away from the work I love.

🐶 SEPTEMBER

I already have Puppy Classes set up for September, which will be held outdoors in a secure field.

📆 Saturdays
📍 South Acres Play Field
🕙 10am

I’ll also be working mobile throughout September, continuing to offer 1-2-1 training and behaviour support, travelling to clients and working with you and your dogs where you need me most.

There are more changes to come, but I’m not quite ready to share those just yet.

There is definitely a new chapter ahead, but at the moment I’m taking things month by month while I work through everything and allow things to fall into place naturally.

For now, I still have clients to support, dogs to help and work that I love doing — and that is where my focus is.

I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to every person who has supported PawFecter over the years, and especially my School for Dogs. It has for sure been one of the most amazing achievements i have been able to experience.

Whether you’ve brought a puppy to class, worked with me on behaviour or reactivity, attended a social, joined an adventure, recommended me to a friend, shared a post or simply followed along — thank you. ❤️

You have all played a part in my journey.

Closing the school is the end of something very special, and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t incredibly hard.

But it is also the beginning of something new.

I don’t know exactly what that looks like yet.

And, for once, I’m learning that it’s okay not to have all the answers.

So for now, I’m taking a deep breath, taking things one month at a time and continuing to do what I love most — helping dogs and the people who love them. 🐾❤️

Thank you for your patience, your understanding and for giving me the space I’ve needed during what has been a very emotional time.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply the closing of one chapter. To celebrate this I have a permanent reminder with me now ❤️

✨🐾 POPPY'S STORY Every success story starts with someone asking for help 🐾✨

When people see a well-behaved dog, they rarely see the journey that got them there.

This lovely client recently shared her experience after joining my Behaviour & Confidence Programme with her young Labrador, Poppy, and I couldn't be prouder of everything they've achieved together.

After experiencing years of stress with another much-loved dog who struggled with severe reactivity, she described feeling like she was "gracefully swimming on the surface while frantically paddling underneath just to stay afloat."

Like so many owners, she spent over **£1,500** trying different online trainers, videos and conflicting advice, hoping something would work. Instead, she was left feeling overwhelmed, confused and believing she had somehow failed her dog.

Eventually, after making the heartbreaking decision to rehome Bear to a family better suited to his needs, she was determined to give Poppy the very best start.

Together we've worked on:
🐾 Building engagement and focus.
🐾 Calm behaviours around the home.
🐾 Front door guarding.
🐾 Reliable recall.
🐾 Confidence out on walks.
🐾 Relaxation in public places.
🐾 Strengthening the bond between dog and owner.

The results have been amazing.

At just 10 months old, Poppy is now confidently walking off lead in suitable open spaces, happily greeting other dogs before returning when called, settling calmly in public using her place cue, and most importantly... her owner is enjoying their adventures together again.

This transformation isn't because Poppy is a "perfect dog."

It's because her owner committed to learning, practised consistently between sessions, asked questions, celebrated the small wins and never gave up.

Professional training isn't about someone training your dog for you. It's about giving you the knowledge, confidence and support to become the team your dog needs.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Watching your confidence grow alongside Poppy's has been an absolute privilege, and I can't wait to see what you both achieve during the rest of your programme. ❤️

If you're feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or wondering if things will ever get better, please know you're not alone. With the right support, positive training and a plan that's tailored to both you and your dog, real change is possible.

🐾 **I have just 6 spaces available for my next Behaviour & Confidence Programme intake in September.** If you're ready to stop feeling overwhelmed and start enjoying life with your dog again, I'd love to help.

🐾 Every journey begins with a single step... and sometimes that step is simply asking for help.

❤️🐾 A Personal Announcement ❤️🐾

This is a post I've been putting off writing because, if I'm honest, it's an emotional one.

After a great deal of thought, I have made the decision to close the doors of the PawFecter School for Dogs, **with the closing date to be confirmed**.

Before I say anything else, I want to make something very clear. This decision is **not** because the school hasn't been successful. In fact, quite the opposite.

The School for Dogs has been everything I hoped it would be and so much more. It has welcomed hundreds of wonderful dogs and their families through its doors, and it has been an absolute privilege to watch nervous puppies grow into confident companions, celebrate the little victories, witness huge breakthroughs, and see the special relationships that have developed between dogs and their owners. Every class, every smile, every wagging tail and every success story has meant the world to me.

The school itself was built during one of the most difficult periods of my life. It gave me purpose, hope and something positive to focus on when I needed it most. Because of that, it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

So why am I closing it?

Quite simply, because life changes, and sometimes we have to recognise when it's time for a new chapter. This is a very personal decision and one that has certainly not been made lightly. After a busy few years, I feel it's the right time to simplify the way I work, slow life down a little, and focus my time and energy on the areas of dog training where I know I can make the greatest difference.

**The exciting news is that PawFecter Dog Training is going on the road.**

Rather than saying goodbye, I'm simply changing the way I work.

Once the School for Dogs closes, PawFecter Dog Training will become a mobile service, bringing my experience and support directly to you. I'll be offering behaviour consultations, reactivity support and one-to-one training in your own home and local environment, where many training challenges naturally occur. Working this way allows me to tailor every session to your dog's individual needs and the situations you experience every day.

My puppy classes will also continue, but they'll be moving outdoors into a secure enclosed field, giving puppies the opportunity to learn in a more natural environment while still being safe, supported and able to develop real-life skills.

Our dog walking service is also here to stay. Demi will continue to lead and grow this side of PawFecter, and I couldn't be happier to have her at the heart of it. She has done an absolutely amazing job since joining the team, building wonderful relationships with both dogs and their owners. Her kindness, dedication and genuine love for every dog she cares for shines through every single day, and I'm incredibly proud of everything she has achieved. I know she'll continue to grow this service with the same passion and care that our clients have come to know and trust.

This isn't the end of PawFecter—it's simply the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The school may be closing its doors, but PawFecter will continue doing what it has always done: helping dogs and their owners build happier, calmer and more confident lives together. In many ways, I truly believe this change will allow me to make an even bigger difference.

To every single person who has trusted me with their dog, whether you've attended one class, completed a behaviour programme, joined our socials, asked for advice, booked dog walks, or been with me for years... **thank you.**

Thank you for believing in me.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your dog's journey.

Thank you for trusting me with your worries, celebrating your successes with me, and reminding me every single day why I love doing what I do.

Many of you arrived feeling worried, overwhelmed or unsure, and watching both you and your dogs grow in confidence has been the greatest privilege. Seeing dogs who once struggled begin to enjoy life again, and watching owners rediscover hope and confidence, is the reason I do what I do.

PawFecter has never just been about dog training. It has become a community filled with people who love their dogs as much as I do. Over the years, I've laughed with you, celebrated milestones with you, and sometimes even cried with you. You've trusted me with an incredibly important part of your lives, and I can honestly say that every single dog and every single owner has left a mark on my heart.

Your support, kindness, encouragement and loyalty have meant far more than you'll ever know. Without you, PawFecter would never have become what it is today, and for that I will always be grateful.

Whilst saying goodbye to the School for Dogs will be incredibly difficult, I know in my heart that this is the right decision at the right time. I'll keep everyone updated as plans progress and will let you know the closing date as soon as everything is confirmed.

I hope you'll continue this next chapter with me. There are still so many dogs to help, so many successes to celebrate, and so many adventures ahead.

From the bottom of my heart...

**Thank you for everything.** ❤️🐾

🐾 Behaviour & Reactivity Support – September Spaces Now Available 🐾

Living with a reactive or behaviourally challenged dog can feel exhausting, isolating and overwhelming. Every walk can become stressful, visitors can feel impossible, and it can sometimes seem like no one truly understands what you're going through.

You are not alone, and things can get better.

From **September**, I'll be opening a limited number of spaces on my **Behaviour & Reactivity Programme**, with a slightly different approach that allows me to work more closely with you where it matters most... **in your own home**.

Every dog is an individual, and that's exactly how I believe behaviour support should be. By starting in your dog's familiar environment, we can better understand what's really happening, identify the triggers affecting them, and build practical, achievable strategies that fit your everyday life.

Together we'll work on:
🐾 Understanding why your dog behaves the way they do.
🐾 Building calmness, confidence and emotional resilience.
🐾 Teaching you the skills to support your dog long-term.
🐾 Creating realistic training plans that work for your family.
🐾 Celebrating every success, no matter how small.

This isn't about quick fixes or simply teaching obedience. It's about improving your dog's emotional wellbeing, strengthening your relationship, and helping both of you enjoy life together again.

If you've been putting off asking for help because you're worried about being judged, please don't. My aim is to support you with kindness, understanding and practical guidance every step of the way.

📅 **Limited September spaces are now available.**

If you'd like to find out whether this programme is the right fit for you and your dog, please get in touch for a chat or book your first consultation.
