day 5.
This month is Mentoring month whichbinthing is perfect for January when everyone is thinking about the year ahead. The prompt today is 'who would you like to mentor you and your horse?'
My simple answer is... the people who do mentor me and my horse/s. People that know me know I am so fussy about who I have lessons with and what advice I take. This isnt because I think im above anyone but I know my personality is abit out there and I need people around me that fit with my energy and give me what I need to get the best out of me, meaning I get the best out of the horses.
I am only recently getting myself back together after having a baby then an injury so training has recently commenced again.
I train with at Courtway in Exeter, once a month. I would love this to be more frequent as every single lesson with Cam makes me feel so great about myself, my abilities, my horse, our goals and just in general I come away feeling so motivated with a can do attitude. Cam events himself and is a BE accredited coach, if you havent had a lesson with him I highly recommend it!
Close to home is I have known Dom for so many years and she is always my go to for help on the flat, from baby horses starting out, too moving up the levels through dressage. She competes herself and rides foe other people. Dom can get the best out of my riding and has my horses feeling like they are dancing!! Flat work is something I am slack with! I try and cut corners and school while im jumping however this year im making an effort to give flat work the time it deserves.
I dont have lessons with she treats my horses regularly for sports massage therapy.... however anyone who has Helen will know exactly what I mean when I say she is just an all over horse mentor!! The woman is an absolute fountain of knowledge and really knows what shes talking about. I love her non-bullsh*t attitude!
These three are my mentor team!
💪2026 lets do this!!
