Puppy classes aren’t just about teaching your puppy to sit, lie down and come back when called. They’re about building the foundations for real life, learning how to listen around distractions, make good choices, build confidence and develop a brilliant relationship with you.

My next Easy Peasy Puppy Course starts Sunday 1st November at 9:30am and runs for 6 weeks at my private outdoor training venue near Withyham.

Actually… that’s exactly why you should come! 👏🏼

Puppy classes aren’t just about teaching your puppy the basics. If your puppy already has a great sit, recall, loose lead or focus, we can help you progress those skills and make them reliable in the real world.

Because doing something perfectly in your living room is one thing… doing it when there are other dogs, people, smells, noises and distractions around is another! 😅

In class we’ll look at how to:
✨ Build on the skills your puppy already has
✨ Gradually introduce controlled distractions
✨ Increase distance and duration
✨ Help your puppy learn to focus around exciting things
✨ Set your puppy up for success rather than simply making things harder
✨ Give you the tools to continue progressing at home

The goal isn’t just a puppy who knows the behaviours, it’s a puppy who can use those skills in everyday life. 🐶

Just because they did it perfectly once… doesn’t mean they’ve learnt it! 😂🐾

Dogs aren’t robots. They don’t automatically understand that because they nailed a behaviour in the kitchen on Tuesday, it should work perfectly in the park on Sunday.

Different environment. Different distractions. Different smells. Different emotions. Different level of difficulty.

And that’s where we can sometimes go wrong as owners, we see that one perfect repetition and think, “Great! They know it!” 👏

But training is about building a behaviour gradually, in lots of different places and situations.

So if your dog suddenly “forgets” something they’ve done perfectly before… don’t panic. They probably haven’t forgotten. You’ve just changed the difficulty level! 😉

Go back a step, make it easier, reward the good stuff and build back up.

Because successful training isn’t about expecting perfection, it’s about setting your dog up to succeed. 🤍

☕🐾 September Coffee & Canines Training Walk!

Because a good dog walk should be more than just putting one foot in front of the other… it’s the perfect opportunity to practise those real-life skills with your dog. 🐶

We’ll work around distractions, build confidence and learn how to navigate everyday situations, all while enjoying a relaxed walk with other dogs and their humans.

And don’t worry, it’s not about having the perfect dog. It’s about learning together, having fun and taking away practical things you can continue working on at home.

🐾 DOG TRAINING MYTH vs FACT 🐾

❌ MYTH: “My dog knows exactly what they’ve done wrong.”

✅ FACT: Dogs aren’t thinking, “Oops, I shouldn’t have done that.” They’re responding to what’s happening right now and learning from the consequences of their behaviour.

That guilty-looking face? It’s much more likely to be a response to your body language, tone or the situation not an admission of guilt. 👀

Training isn’t about making your dog feel bad for getting it wrong.

It’s about teaching them what you’d like them to do instead. 🩵
