Hi everyone, I just wanted to be honest and say how I’m feeling at the moment.
My life literally revolves around work. I’ve had one full week off all year, and I always put work first. Even when I’m already fully booked, I somehow find myself squeezing more dogs in. For the past three years, my New Year’s resolution has been to have a better work-life balance, but unfortunately it never seems to last very long.
If I’m honest, I’ve been really struggling with everything for a while now. I very rarely get to spend time with Finley, and he’s always saying that all I do is work. We only really have Sundays together and I know something needs to change.
I’m constantly feeling poorly and I can’t keep up with working six days a week, especially with such a physically demanding job. It’s starting to affect my health, particularly my diabetes as well as my home life.
So from now onwards I’ll be cutting back my hours and not working as much. If I say I’m fully booked, then I really am fully booked. I need to start putting some boundaries in place and prioritising my health and family.
I’m also in the process of setting up a booking system and now have a separate phone for work. This means I won’t have my work phone with me in the evenings or when I’m off work, so I can properly switch off and spend time with my family.
My prices will also be changing slightly for some dogs. I’ve kept my prices low for a long time, but with everything going up I simply can’t continue doing that anymore. Everyone will be added to the new booking system, where the updated prices will be available. If you need to cancel because of the price change, I completely understand and there will be absolutely no hard feelings.
My cancellation policy will also be managed through the booking system. Reminder texts will be sent out, and unfortunately no-shows and late cancellations that cannot be filled will be charged.
I hope everyone understands that these changes are something I really need to do for my health, my family and myself. I’m so grateful for every single one of you and for all the support you’ve given me and my business. ❤️
Thanks,
Jodie 🐶💜
