Erica's journey started a long way from her forever home. After coming to PAW Society through our partnership in Cyprus, we're delighted to see just how much this little girl has flourished. 🇨🇾❤️

Three months after her adoption, her family told us:
"Erica is doing really well and has definitely grown since we brought her home.
We actually have two new Chihuahua puppies now, and they all love playing together. Erica enjoys chasing them around the house and it's been lovely to see how well they've all bonded.
She's settled in brilliantly and is such a loving, affectionate cat. She's full of confidence now, loves exploring and enjoys curling up with us for cuddles."

There is one thing Erica remains particularly passionate about: food! Her family say she'll try her luck whenever the opportunity arises, keeping everyone on their toes and providing plenty of laughs. 😂

From Cyprus to a home where she's now confidently racing around with her canine companions before settling down for cuddles, Erica's life has changed completely.

Her family say they couldn't imagine life without her now - and that's exactly the ending we hoped for when we first agreed to give her a chance. 🐾

Three months ago, Lady Marshmallow headed off to her forever home and became Jazz. It didn't take her long to establish herself as the centre of attention, and apparently absolutely nothing has changed! 😂💕

Her family told us:
"Jazz is obviously the main character of our family now. There isn't a moment that she doesn't feature front and centre in whatever we're up to.
Whether that's climbing on my shoulders as I do the washing up, sleeping with her head on our keyboards while we work, or cuddling up with the kids for bedtime stories, she's totally intertwined with our lives."

Jazz has also started exploring outdoors. Living beside a large allotment gives her plenty to investigate, and after her daily adventures she returns home when her family rings her dinner bell.

"She is such a joyful energy, intelligent, connected and always ready for a tummy tickle. She brings endless love into our home."

We couldn't think of a better description of a happy ending. From Lady Marshmallow at Kiko's to Jazz, beloved main character and family adventurer, she's found exactly where she belongs. 🐱❤️

🐾 August Round-Up 🐾

August was a huge month for PAW Society - 19 new arrivals, eight adoptions, two very special long-term dogs finally finding their forever homes, the launch of a new volunteer community, and an incredible show of financial support. ❤️

🏡 8 adoptions
This month we waved goodbye to cats Darcy, Lord Rustlebottom, Harry, Ronnie, Sassy, and Ron, who all headed off to their forever homes.
August also saw our two longest-serving dogs find their forever homes - Olly and Kenny.

🐱 19 new arrivals
August also brought our biggest intake for some time. Cosmo joined us after coming into a veterinary practice needing rescue support, while a further 18 cats came into our care from Cats Galore. Taking on 19 cats in a single month is a significant commitment. Each one needs foster space, food and supplies, veterinary care, and all the work behind the scenes that eventually gets them ready for a new home.

We launched All Paws on Deck, our new volunteer community. Whether it’s helping with a vet lift, collecting medication, lending equipment, supporting us at an event, or offering a skill when we need it, there are so many ways to make a difference - without committing to regular hours.

In rescue, we throw around the term “foster fail” a lot - our light-hearted way of describing a foster who falls a little too hard for their temporary house guest and decides they’re never leaving - but this story couldn’t be further from a failure. ❤️

For three years, Kenny has been our most challenging dog. After being returned from his adopted home in 2023, he moved between several foster placements. Nobody was at fault; Kenny simply carried a lot with him and finding somewhere that could meet his needs long-term was difficult.

But there were two people he never forgot. Hannah and Buddy were Kenny’s first fosters after his return. In March 2025, when he needed somewhere to go once again, they were able to welcome him back.

We’ll never forget their reunion. The excitement and sheer joy of being back with his people brought tears to our eyes. It was as though a little piece of him had fallen back into place. 🥹

Since then, Hannah and Buddy have given Kenny everything he needed to heal. They’ve learnt his quirks again, worked around his fears and triggers, but most importantly, gave him consistency. Kenny flourished in their care, once again.

Despite his progress, Kenny’s history meant any future home would need to be exceptional. We spent an embarrassingly long time looking for it before realising it was right in front of us.

Now, after three years of uncertainty Kenny is finally home, with the people he chose a long time ago.

Hannah and Buddy didn’t “fail” at fostering Kenny. They succeeded at something much bigger.

They gave a complicated, misunderstood dog the patience, dedication, and love he needed to feel safe again - and the security of knowing that this time, he never has to lose his people again. 🩷🐾

Have a great life, Kenny. You’re already exactly where you belong. 🏡

From her very first few days at home, Mocha made it clear she wasn't planning on staying in her safe room for long! Three months later, her family say they can't imagine their home without her. ❤️

Her adopter told us:
"Somehow it feels longer than three months for us! It feels like Mocha is a key part of the family and we can't imagine the house without her now.
She is increasingly a lap cat and loves sleeping on Jack. When not sleeping she has loads of energy and loves playing with her toys."

Mocha does still experience some tummy troubles, so her family are carefully working through different foods to find the one that suits her best. But that certainly isn't stopping this loving, silly, and playful girl from enjoying life. From birdwatching and energetic playtime to curling up on her family's laps, Mocha has completely embraced her forever home.

Her family's verdict says it all: "She's the coolest cat and we love her." 🥰

When Diana first arrived home, introductions to resident cat Ziggy (also a PAW Society kitty) got off to a slightly shaky start - a nose rub was swiftly followed by a hiss and a retreat! Thankfully, three months later, things look very different. 😻

Her family told us:
"Ziggy and Diana have got to know each other and often play and sleep together.
Diana is very vocal - she wasn't at Kiko's - and Ziggy now talks to us some more. Diana has also copied Ziggy by enjoying tummy rubs. She wasn't so keen when she first came to us but loves it now."

Diana has also had her first taste of outdoor adventures, and it seems Ziggy decided to take responsibility for showing his new friend around:
"It was lovely watching all her senses going ten to the dozen as she explored the garden. Then Ziggy called and Diana followed him over the side gate! About an hour and a half later, the two of them came back together. He's clearly watching out for her."

From tentative introductions to playing, sleeping, and adventuring side-by-side, we'd say those "baby steps" paid off beautifully. 💕

Three months have flown by since Mango headed off to her forever home, and it sounds like she couldn't be happier. 💕

Mango settled in quickly from the very beginning, immediately seeking out cuddles and forming a lovely friendship with the family's dog. Over the following weeks, her confidence grew, her cheeky side appeared (much to the disappointment of a few houseplants!) and she began building a relationship with the resident cat too.

Now, three months on, her family told us:
"Mango is doing great! Still full of love, very playful and definitely settled in now.

We let her outside for the first time recently, which she has been enjoying immensely. She comes back in without needing to be called, which is a real relief."

From crying at the door for cuddles in her first few days to confidently exploring the outside world, Mango has certainly made herself at home. We're so happy this affectionate little girl found the family she deserves. 🐱

🐾 Chester: Affectionate, nurturing, and playful.

Chester is an affectionate boy who loves food, toys, cuddles, and curling up on a welcoming lap. He's particularly fond of children and has a lovely nurturing side with other cats, so we'd like him to have a compatible feline friend and young human friend in his new home. An indoor home with plenty of enrichment would suit him beautifully, and he may also be able to live with a cat-savvy dog.

Meet our biggest ever intake!

When one of our Trustees was tagged in a desperate appeal from Cats Galore who were overwhelmed by the number of stray cats and kittens needing help in their local area, we knew we needed to help.

So we've opened our doors to two cats and 16 kittens - 18 new arrivals across multiple litters all safely trapped and brough to safety by Cats Galore 😻

For some, life so far has been spent outside, surviving wherever they could. For others, their time on the streets has left them frightened, under-socialised, or in poor condition.

Now they're all safe. They'll have time to decompress, receive any veterinary care they need, and gradually learn that life doesn't have to be about simply surviving. We'll take things at their pace and give each of them the opportunity to show us who they really are.

It's a huge intake for our small charity, but when another rescue reaches out because they're struggling, this is what rescue partnership is all about.
One organisation creates space.
Another steps forward.
And together, we save more lives. 🤍

We'll be introducing these beautiful cats and kittens in small groups as they settle in. Many are currently nameless and we'll need some help brainstorming - keep an eye on our page for details! 👀
