🐶 Everyone, meet Scapa! 🐾💙

Scapa popped in for his kennel cough vaccination 💉… but Scapa had other ideas! 😂🐶 He was only interested in biscuits and cuddles, please! 🦴🤗

But jokes aside, why is the kennel cough vaccination important? 🩺

🐾 Helps protect against kennel cough – a contagious respiratory infection that can cause a persistent, honking cough.

🐾 Reduces the risk of illness – especially for dogs who mix with other pups at daycare, boarding kennels and training classes.

🐾 Helps protect the wider doggy community – vaccination can reduce the risk and severity of illness, although it doesn’t prevent every case.

Keeping vaccinations up to date is an important part of helping our furry friends stay happy and healthy! ❤️🐕

🤔 NOW FOR THE FUN PART… GUESS THE BREED! 👀🐾

What breed do you think Scapa is? Drop your guesses in the comments below! ⬇️

And don’t worry, Scapa… we promise there are plenty of biscuits and cuddles to go around! 😂🦴❤️

What a chilled-out boy he is! 😎🐶 Angus has been taking it all in his stride, proving that vet visits don’t have to be stressful. Such a good lad! 🥰👏

A little jab today for a healthier tomorrow! 💉✨

🐱 Did you know we’re a cat-friendly clinic, too? 💕 We understand that every pet has different needs, and we strive to make every visit as calm, comfortable and stress-free as possible for our feline friends. 😻🐾

🌟A Day in the life of a Student Veterinary Nurse 🌟

Mhairi has been developing her skills and gaining valuable hands-on experience as part of our Veterinary team. Here she is helping to scrub in and prepare for a surgical procedure, playing an important role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

As well as assisting with the preparation, Mhairi has also placed the patient’s IV cannula and carried out intubation, demonstrating her growing confidence and practical skills in theatre.

As a Veterinary Nurse training practice, we are incredibly proud to support student nurses like Mhairi as they develop their knowledge, confidence and clinical abilities. Every procedure is an opportunity to learn, build experience and take another step towards becoming a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Well done, Mhairi! Keep up the fantastic work – we’re proud to be part of your journey. 🩺🐶💙

🐾 Jet is in for his yearly vaccinations and health check! 💙

As our lovely boy is getting older, we always like to be extra thorough with his health checks. After all, prevention and early detection are so important, especially as our pets enter their senior years. 🐾❤️

For Jet, we’re not just giving his annual vaccinations and having a quick look over him — we’re giving him a 360° health check.

This includes checking his:
🩺 Blood pressure
🩸 Bloods and overall blood health
❤️ Heart and circulation
🫁 Lungs and breathing
🦷 Teeth and oral health
👀 Eyes and ears
⚖️ Weight and body condition
🦴 Joints, mobility and general comfort
🐾 Skin, coat and overall condition

We also take the time to chat through any changes you may have noticed at home, because sometimes the smallest changes can be important indicators of a developing health issue.

Jet may be getting older, but with regular, thorough health checks, we can keep a close eye on him and make sure he’s feeling his very best for as long as possible. 🥰🐶

Senior pets deserve senior-level care. ❤️

🦉 Barn Owl Update

A little update on this wee barn owl from last week. ❤️

After potentially being hit by a car, this beautiful owl was initially unable to fly or even walk. Thankfully, there has been some lovely progress! 🥰

It can now fly really nicely and is walking too, although it’s still struggling a little with its left leg. Unfortunately, that means it’s not yet able to hunt for itself.

We’re hoping that, even if progress is slow, this wee one will continue to improve day by day. 🤞🦉

Fingers crossed for a full recovery ❤️
