Dear Customer,
You may have seen claims online that Stobart Premium Pet Foods puts chicken into our beef products.
Let us be absolutely clear: THIS FALSE.
Every Stobart product is single protein. Our beef is beef. Our lamb is lamb. What is on the label is exactly what we put in the pack.
The report being circulated cannot be trusted
The report being shared online carries the Eurofins name. Here is what Eurofins has told us directly:
* They did not verify where the sample came from. It was submitted by a third party, not by us. There is no verified evidence that the product tested was ever ours.
* They cannot authenticate any test result without a full chain of custody. No chain of custody was followed for this report.
Put simply, the report proves nothing about our products. Anyone can send a sample to a laboratory and call it whatever they like. That is exactly why proper testing requires a verified chain of custody, and why this report does not have one.
Other claims are also false
It has also been claimed online that products have been removed from our site and that we have been visited by the authorities over these allegations. These claims are absolutely FALSE.
No products have been removed from our site, and no authority has visited us or raised any concern about our products. Production and deliveries are continuing as normal.
We are going further
To put this beyond any doubt, we are commissioning Eurofins, the same laboratory named on the circulating report, to carry out full DNA testing with a complete chain of custody.
An independent party will take samples directly from our production line and from stockists' shelves. Every sample will be sealed and tracked at each step until it reaches the laboratory, so no one can swap or tamper with it. We will publish the results in full as soon as we have them.
Protecting our business
We believe this is a deliberate campaign to damage our name, including through fake social media profiles. We have taken action, and the matter is now in the hands of our solicitors and the appropriate authorities. Because of this, there is a limit to what we can say at this stage.
