Just a reminder that there’s a 72 hour prescription request period here at The House Vet 🏡

Medications must be requested 72 hours in advance of when you need them, we know sometimes people run out, or accidentally forget to re order but please try to give us a minimum of 72 hours to refill that script ✉️ If requesting medication heading into or over a weekend, then please allow 72 hours from the next working day 📆

We do our best to make sure they’re ready asap but please try to give us as much notice as possible 🙏🏻

Following on from Tilly’s post. High blood pressure often goes undiagnosed because the symptoms are so vague until the latter stages, symptoms can include:

👀 Sudden vision loss or onset of blindness, high blood pressure means the retina’s can detach and cause microscopic bleeds which lead to temporary or permanent vision loss

🧠 Ataxia, becoming wobbly, off balance or even in severe cases, seizures, can all be signs that your cat may be experiencing high blood pressure

🫀 Overtime hypertension can lead to an increase strain on the heart muscle which can result in heart disease

🫘 An increase in blood pressure puts strain on the kidneys which can in turn, cause or worsen kidney disease. Cats with known (or unknown) kidney disease, high blood pressure can worsen the kidneys

📣 Some more gauge signs may include:
Becoming more vocal & increased yowling at night, sleeping more or “slowing down”, appearing confused & generally not themselves.
