🐾 Senior pets deserve a little extra care! 💚

As our pets get older, regular health checks become even more important. Just like us, our furry friends can develop health conditions as they age, and many can go unnoticed without routine monitoring.

Why is checking blood pressure important?

High blood pressure (hypertension) can develop in older pets, particularly cats, and often there are no obvious signs in the early stages. If left untreated, it can damage vital organs, including the eyes, kidneys, heart and brain.

Regular blood pressure checks help us detect problems early, monitor existing conditions and start treatment when needed — helping our senior pets stay comfortable and healthy for longer🐾

As a general guide, we recommend more frequent health checks for senior pets, often every 6 months, depending on their individual needs and medical history.

🐾 Dexter’s had another run-in with a suspected badger! 🦡

Poor Dexter the Jackapoo has been back to see us after another suspected encounter with a badger, leaving him with a nasty wound on his chin💔

We’ve given the wound a thorough flush to clean it up and started him on antibiotics to help fight infection and get him on the road to recovery🩺💊

We’re hoping this little adventurer takes it easy while he heals! 💚🐶

Duchess has been a little hero recently! 🦸‍♀️🐶

She came to us with some nasty wounds on her back paw and leg, although we're not entirely sure how they happened.

Since then, she's been undergoing wound management with our team and has been an absolute superstar throughout her treatment💚

She's been so brave at every step, and we couldn't be prouder of her!

We're keeping everything crossed that Duchess will be able to say goodbye to her cone of shame very soon! 🤞✨
Until then, lots of rest, cuddles and continued healing for this brave girl💚
