Meet Ginger 🐴

Ginger has recently joined us at Little Scotney for a short-term stay, with a tailored rehab programme focused on getting her feeling strong, comfortable and ready to return to her job as a show jumper.

We’ll be working closely with her throughout her stay, building her back up carefully and making sure everything is progressing as it should before she gets back to doing what she loves. 🤍

She’s already settled in beautifully… and we’ve quickly discovered that the way to Ginger’s heart is definitely through bananas and pretty much any fruit she can get her hooves on. 🍌🍎

We’re looking forward to having her with us and sharing a little more of her rehab journey along the way.

POV: you open my camera roll… 🐴🤎

From early mornings at the yard and riding, to rehab sessions, treatments and those small moments where you start to see a horse feeling stronger and more confident again, your horse’s wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do at Little Scotney.

Every horse is treated as an individual, with their care shaped around their needs, history and goals.

As a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist and RAMP registered practitioner, I’m able to combine hands-on treatment, rehabilitation, exercise and day-to-day management to create a considered plan for each horse in our care.

A very horse-filled camera roll… and a pretty accurate picture of life at Little Scotney. 🙌

A very special milestone at Little Scotney Rehabilitation & Livery 🐴

Today, Joker was turned out for the first time in months following his rehabilitation journey, and it was a moment worth celebrating.

Rehab takes time, patience and consistency. Progress doesn’t always happen quickly, but days like today remind us why every careful step matters.

We’re incredibly proud to document Joker as our first rehabilitation “graduate.” He’s not quite at the end of his recovery journey yet, but this is a huge step forward, and we’re so pleased to see him progressing so well.

Well done, Joker, we’re all very proud of you. 🤍

Meet Hugo, the newest livery at Little Scotney 🤍🐴

Hugo is full of character, but he can also be a little anxious in new environments, so we’ve taken extra time and care to help him settle in at his own pace.

As part of his individual rehabilitation plan, Hugo is currently on box rest. Our stable setup means he can still see, hear and interact with other horses, with plenty of forage, company, attention and a calm, consistent routine.

Welcome to Little Scotney, Hugo. We’re so pleased to have you here 🤍

When choosing rehabilitation livery for your horse, it’s important to look beyond the facilities.

The real question is:

Who is guiding your horse’s recovery?

At our rehabilitation livery , horses benefit from more than daily care and exercise. Their rehabilitation is overseen by qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, Imogen Golding , allowing every stage of recovery to be carefully assessed, monitored, and progressed according to the horse’s individual needs.

From post-surgical rehabilitation and injury recovery to strengthening programmes and return-to-work plans, each horse receives a tailored approach designed to support the best possible outcome.

Because successful rehabilitation isn’t just about giving injuries time to heal.

It’s about understanding how the body moves, identifying potential limitations, and making informed decisions throughout the recovery process.

We also work closely alongside your veterinary team to ensure your horse receives the support they need every step of the way.

If you’re looking for rehabilitation livery and would like to discuss your horse’s situation, we’d be happy to help.
