Next Sunday, we’ll be gathering at K9 Freedom Fields to raise vital funds for Greyhounds Going Home!

Whether you've got a golden oldie, a bouncy puppy, or a rescue superstar, there’s a spot in the ring for you.

📸 Putting out feelers! Who wants a photo of their dog they actually want to frame? 🐶🖼️

We are thinking about bringing a professional photographer down to K9 Freedom Fields for special booking slots!

Before we get the dates booked in, we want to know if you would be interested and, more importantly, what kind of vibe you love!

💛 Coming Soon: The PetWorking Durham CIC Community Pet Bank! 🐾

We are proud to share that the Petworking Durham CIC Community Pet Bank will soon be up and running right here at K9 Freedom Fields in Coxhoe!

Times can be tough, and no owner should ever have to worry about providing for their beloved pets. Operated by Petworking Durham CIC, our Pet Bank is being set up to lend a helping hand to local pet owners who need a little extra support with the cost of caring for their dogs.

How it works:
✨ Give what you can: We gratefully accept donations of new and good-quality, gently used pet supplies.
✨ Take what you need: Supplies are made available free of charge to anyone in our local community who needs them.

💛 Donations are always appreciated, but never necessary to access the Pet Bank.
Opening times will be confirmed very shortly, so keep an eye on our page for full details!

Supporting local dogs and their people, together. 🐶❤️

🐾📚 LOOK WHO CAME TO VISIT K9 FREEDOM FIELDS! 📚🐾

I was absolutely thrilled yesterday when the gorgeous Billy came along to K9 Freedom Fields — and even more delighted when he brought me my very own signed copy of his book, Billy is not a Labrador! ❤️

The lovely inscription from his owner and author, Felicity Breet, says:

“Billy loves your Freedom Field.” 🥹🐾

And I think we can safely say K9 Freedom Fields loves Billy too!

Billy really is an amazing little character with quite a story to tell. His journey began when he arrived in the UK from Romania, listed as a Labrador cross. After being adopted by Felicity, it soon became apparent that Billy was perhaps not quite the Labrador everyone thought he was!

After plenty of adventures, chaos, training and laughter, a DNA test finally revealed that Billy is not a Labrador at all — he is (mostly!) Jagdterrier, plus TEN other breeds! 😲🐶

But as Felicity so perfectly puts it:

❤️ Does it matter that he’s not a Labrador? Not at all. He is just Billy. ❤️

His book tells the story of his journey from Romania to his new life, and the adventures and lessons along the way. Even better, money raised from the sale of the book is shared between Dogs Trust, The Cinnamon Trust and Billy’s annual health insurance.

Thank you so much Felicity and Billy for such a lovely surprise. The signed copy will definitely have a special place here at K9. 💙
