I know this isn’t us but it’s an interesting insight into the workings of one of our 24 hour centres. This is very much how our local ‘hospital’ in Leamington Spa works and has similarities to our working day too. We use our hospital for overnight care of patients and as our emergency service when we are closed. One of the best things is that a pet does not need to be transferred back to us during the day if they require longer stays.

A day at the vets isn't my stereotypical day but witnessing consultations, MRI scans and medical procedures made it worth it, writes MyLondon reporter Ayo

Floof!
Saturday was clearly a day for it.

Shortly before the cat in the last post appeared, this trio of kittens were presented to us. They had been abandoned in a wood near Canley. They are of different ages and way too clean, healthy and calm to be strays. I saw another from the same group this morning so they are at least now finding homes. Some very kind people in the canley area have been working away to get them looked after. No adult cats have been found.

Does anyone recognise this cat which was brought into us as a stray today. She has no microchip and we were unable to glean much information as to where this cat may have come from but possibly the tile-hill area. She’s currently being cared for by the hospital

We’ve had a little adjustment to our ‘Cat waiting area’ to try and make it feel a little more secure. We hope that it’s clearer as to the intended use.

There’s a stand for cat-carriers and branded towels to cover them. It’s never easy trying to navigate these potentially tricky things. Avoiding the scent of dogs in there will help reduce vet-clinic fear for our feline patients.

Just when you think grass seed season is over… this seed was deeply embedded in a foot causing quite a bit of irritation but fortunately it was possible to remove it with the pet being conscious
