🌟 Meet Tiggy‑Winkle - a superstar 17‑year‑old chinchilla who visited us yesterday for her routine health check.
Chinchillas are wonderfully delicate pets, and Tiggy is a brilliant example of how consistent care helps them stay happy and healthy well into their senior years.

Here are some key chinchilla facts every owner should know:
- Lifespan — Many live 15–20 years, and some reach their mid‑20s.
- Fur Density — Up to 80 hairs per follicle, making them prone to overheating.
- Dust Baths — Essential for keeping their coat clean and skin healthy.
- Athletic Leaps — They can jump up to 6 feet, so secure housing is a must.
- Social Needs — In the wild, they live in herds for companionship and safety.

Tiggy passed her check‑up beautifully, and we’re honoured to care for her.

We have have an adult black and white female domestic shorthaired cat, brought down to the Broad Lane Vets Surgery, she was found on Bohun street, Jardine crescent, CV4 area. She is microchipped however the details are not up to date. She is currently receiving medical treatment.

Milly is 14 today and still stealing hearts! 💕

She popped in for her monthly injection and gave us her best birthday‑girl grin.

We hope she’s celebrating with cuddles, treats, and a very generous slice of cake.

🌟Inspiring the Next Generation of Animal Lovers 🌟
Last week, a group of Reception children enjoyed a brilliant, hands‑on afternoon all about pets, animal care, and responsible ownership - thanks to three of our amazing team members: Sam, Alice and Blayne.

From meeting friendly animals (including the ever‑popular Molly the dog and some fascinating reptiles) to practising bandaging skills and even performing “surgery” on a cuddly patient, the children were fully immersed in the world of veterinary care. Their curiosity, kindness and enthusiasm made the whole session a joy.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers for giving their time, energy and passion to create such a memorable experience. Moments like these show how powerful community learning can be - for young people and for us as a team 🐾💚

Such a special boy ❤️

Remembering Stumpy ❤️‍🩹

We’re heartbroken to share that Stumpy, our first ever donor dog to reach an incredible 30 donations, has passed away 😔

Stumpy donated at Broad Lane Vets Coventry (later Balsall Common Vets), and so many of us will remember his visits. He was a gentle boy, always ready for the treats and fuss he very much deserved 🐾

Through his 30 donations, Stumpy helped save the lives of up to 120 other dogs. He was truly dedicated, never missing an appointment 🩸

Many of you may recognise his sweet face from media appearances, and even his memorable moment alongside Clare Balding at Crufts. He may not have become a Guide Dog as planned, but he became a brilliant ambassador and lifesaving blood donor instead 🙏

Thank you to Stumpy's owner Elly for sharing him with us and allowing him to become such an important part of our story. He made such a difference, and we feel very lucky to have known him ❤️
